The Role

As part of the Settlements & Clearing team in Toronto, you will support the accurate and timely processing of securities clearing and settlement activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring operational efficiency, managing risk, and supporting the team’s overall objectives within a fast-paced capital markets environment.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Manage day-to-day clearing and settlement activities across a range of securities products
  • Investigate and resolve breaks, exceptions, and operational issues, ensuring timely resolution and root cause identification
  • Adapt to daily changes impacting retail and trading products and their downstream effects on clearing processes
  • Maintain and enhance operational procedures, controls, and documentation
  • Support process improvements and contribute to increased automation and efficiency
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (trading, middle office, technology) to resolve issues and improve workflows
  • Ensure all activities are conducted in line with regulatory requirements and internal controls

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience in securities clearing and settlement operations
  • Strong knowledge of securities products, market infrastructure, and industry standards (custody, clearing, settlements)
  • Experience investigating breaks, reconciliations, and operational exceptions across trade lifecycle processes
  • Exposure to upstream/downstream systems impacting settlement workflows
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume processing in a deadline-driven environment
  • Experience maintaining and enhancing operational procedures, controls, and documentation
