Purpose:


Contributes to the overall success of the Structured Finance team within Settlements & Clearing, GWO in Canada, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s
business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are following governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:


• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Initiating, validating, and settling wire transfers and high value payments. Experience with payments processing including wire transfers and swift etc.
• Previous experience in cash management, securitization, or financial services operations.
• Develop proficiency with applications used by the Structured Finance team daily. (Secure Hub, GDMS, BESS, Cash Pro, ADP, Scotia connect)
• Ensure all daily process such as invoice issuance, fulfilment of sellers’ borrowing and paydown requests, CP funding request to traders are properly executed in order to achieve the optimum use of cash for each conduit.
• Ensure proper control process is followed to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the data feeds generated by Secure HUB.
• Effectively support, communicate with, and maintain excellent working relations with front office, clients, technology and any other related internal/external stakeholders in order to ensure that all interrelated processes take place in an accurate and timely manner and that any discrepancies are addressed effectively.
• Responsible for providing accurate and informative analysis to the Settlements & Clearing management
• Act as the first point of contact to clients for any escalations
• Consistently look for any opportunities for process improvements to maximize efficiencies.
• Develop a sound understanding of all Securitization products supported. (ABCP, ABS) And also learn the day-to-day settlement procedures to provide coverage as needed to cover absences.
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

 

• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in financial services, knowledge of/experience with ABS Securitization would be an asset.
• Experience with payments processing including wire transfers and swift etc.
• University degree in business, finance field preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office with experience in data analytics, experience with Excel VBA would be an asset. 
• Previous experience in cash management, securitization, or financial services operations.
• Strong technical aptitude, fast learner with strong analytical skills and improvement mindset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Ability to identify and drive process improvements, maintaining a strict control environment.
• Strong client-centric mindset with a proven ability to prioritize stakeholder needs and deliver high quality service.
• Strong understanding of Bank’s various other securitization operations, workflows and supporting functions.


Work Arrangement:


• Work in a standard office-based and/or remote environment; non-standard hours may be required depending on projects/initiatives in flight. The may be subject to change based on business needs.
