The Role
We’re looking for an Analyst to support the daily operational activities of global collateral management for securities borrowing and lending across the Scotia Group. You’ll be responsible for executing margin calls, exposure monitoring, settlements, reconciliations, and ensuring accurate collateral coverage across bilateral and triparty arrangements.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Execute daily margin calls, recalls, substitutions, and settlements for securities lending transactions.
- Perform exposure monitoring, collateral valuation, and daily reconciliations across bilateral and triparty agreements.
- Process and validate cash and securities movements across depositories and custodians.
- Investigate and resolve breaks, discrepancies, and exceptions in a timely manner.
- Prepare and update daily exposure reports, dashboards, and operational metrics.
- Monitor workflow queues to ensure deadlines and service level expectations are met.
- Support testing, system enhancements, and process documentation updates.
- Collaborate with internal teams, triparty agents, custodians, and counterparties to resolve operational issues.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:
- Hands on experience with collateral workflows, margining, and exposure reconciliation (bilateral & triparty).
- Understanding of securities lending operations and collateralization practices.
- Experience with platforms such as Pirum, EquiLend, and SBL systems (Loanet, Gloss, Global One, Loan One, Arrow Paramax, Escape, Anvil).
- Familiarity with triparty agents (BNY Mellon, JPM) and depositories (CDS, DTCC, BNY Fed).
- Working knowledge of U.S. and Canadian regulatory expectations for securities lending and collateral management.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem solving skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced environment.
