The Role

The Analyst contributes to the overall success of the Loan Operations team in Toronto by supporting a portfolio of medium to complex corporate loans and letters of credit. This includes syndicated facilities where the Bank acts as Agent, as well as bilateral lending arrangements, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and high-quality client service.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Administer and process loan activities for a participation portfolio across the Americas and UK, utilizing systems such as LoanIQ and other internal platforms.
  • Provide end-to-end servicing support for syndicated loan portfolios, including disbursements, interest and fee processing, rollovers, and maintenance of accurate loan records.
  • Perform daily reconciliations of syndicated loan positions, investigating and resolving cash breaks and discrepancies with Agent banks.
  • Review system-generated reports (e.g., LoanIQ) to identify exceptions and ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures; escalate issues when required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, controls, and operational efficiency within the team.
  • Apply a strong understanding of the Bank’s risk appetite and ensure risk considerations are embedded in day-to-day activities.
  • Deliver a high level of client service by supporting a customer-focused culture and leveraging internal relationships, systems, and expertise.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all work, applying due diligence and attention to detail.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Post-secondary education in Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Hands-on experience servicing corporate and/or syndicated loans, including disbursements, interest and fee processing, and rollovers.
  • Working knowledge of loan servicing systems such as LoanIQ (or similar platforms).
  • Understanding of syndicated loan structures, agency functions, and participation portfolios.
  • Familiarity with loan reconciliations, cash break investigations, and exception management processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel capability (e.g., data analysis, reconciliation support).
