The Role:

The Analyst, GWO Confirmations – OTC Confirmations supports the accurate and timely confirmation of over-the-counter derivatives trades across global operations. This role plays a key part in managing trade confirmation activity, identifying unmatched transactions, supporting operational controls, and helping ensure the team meets regulatory, risk, and internal policy requirements.

 

In this role, you will work with multiple trade confirmation platforms, internal systems, and product areas, including equities, credit, rates, commodities, and FX options. You will contribute to the smooth execution of daily operations while helping identify process gaps, improve controls, and support a strong risk and compliance environment.

 

This is an opportunity for someone with experience in financial operations, trade confirmations, capital markets, or banking operations who is interested in building deeper knowledge of OTC derivatives and global trade support processes.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Monitor and support the timely confirmation of OTC derivative trades across multiple products and workstations.

 

  • Track unmatched or outstanding transactions, investigate discrepancies, and support root cause analysis to help identify process improvements or risk mitigation opportunities.

 

  • Provide daily operational support across confirmation workstations to help ensure coverage, continuity, and timely completion of team deliverables.

 

  • Use internal platforms and external confirmation tools to review, validate, and support trade confirmation activity.

 

  • Escalate issues, breaks, exceptions, or control concerns in accordance with established procedures and timelines.

 

  • Support management by providing feedback on workstation design, workflow improvements, and opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.

 

  • Apply internal control procedures and contribute feedback to help ensure processes remain effective, relevant, and aligned with business needs.

 

  • Carry out day-to-day activities in accordance with the Bank’s risk appetite, regulatory requirements, internal policies, and applicable procedures.

 

  • Support the effectiveness of business controls related to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk, and conduct risk.

 

  • Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and performance-focused team environment by supporting knowledge sharing, operational consistency, and continuous improvement.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? – We’d love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Experience in banking operations, capital markets operations, trade confirmations, derivatives operations, settlements, or a related financial services operations environment.
  • Working knowledge of OTC derivatives products, including one or more of the following:
  • Equities
  • Credit
  • Rates
  • Commodities
  • FX Options
  • Knowledge of trade confirmation processes, unmatched trade investigation, exception management, or operational break resolution.
  • Familiarity with banking controls, regulatory requirements, operational risk procedures, and internal compliance requirements related to financial operations.
  • Experience using financial operations systems, trade processing platforms, or confirmation tools.
  • Working knowledge of one or more of the following systems is considered an asset:
  • K2/PEAK
  • S1
  • Murex
  • SCOTS
  • Experience with one or more of the following external platforms or applications is considered an asset:
  • MarkitWire
  • DTCC
  • Xceptor Confirmation Hub
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, for tracking, reviewing, and managing operational data.


Working Conditions

  • This role operates in a standard office-based environment.
  • Non-standard hours may be required to support business volumes, time-sensitive trade confirmation activity, market deadlines, or global operational coverage.
  • Travel may be required on an exception basis.
