This role supports the Physical Threat Intelligence Unit in achieving its objectives by providing expertise in intelligence analysis. Plays a critical role in the identification and assessment of physical security risks to Scotiabank's people, physical assets, and business operations globally. Ensures all activities conducted globally are in compliance with governing regulations and internal policies and procedures, while contributing to the Unit’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of security and operational readiness. 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

  • Be responsible for monitoring open and closed sources to proactively identify and assess physical security risks to Scotiabank employees, business operations, and physical assets across the globe.
  • Independently prepare clear and concise written intelligence reports and verbal briefings for key stakeholders across Corporate Security and the Bank.
  • Collaborate with external partners and internal teams across the Scotiabank enterprise, including the Global Security Operations Centre (SOC) and other Intelligence Units, to facilitate information sharing and joint analysis.
  • Leverage intelligence tools and technology (e.g., vendor platforms, geographic information systems) to enhance intelligence reporting and the team’s ability to communicate insights about physical security risk.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of intelligence workflows for physical threat and risk management.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Undergraduate degree in Intelligence, Political Science, Global Affairs, Journalism, International Relations, Data Analysis, Criminal Intelligence, or a similar field of study is preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in intelligence analysis is required (e.g., private sector and/or in government/law enforcement at the federal, provincial, or municipal level).
  • Experience with Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) methodology and tools is required.
  • Experience with Geographic Information Systems (e.g., ArcGIS) is an asset.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with demonstrated experience presenting analytic findings in a clear, concise, and actionable format.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (SharePoint, Office, PowerPoint, Excel etc.)
  • Fluency in English required; Spanish is an asset
