Global Banking and Markets

Global Banking and Markets (GBM) conducts the Bank’s wholesale banking and capital markets business with corporate, government and institutional investor clients. GBM is a full-service wholesale bank and investment dealer in Canada and Mexico and offers a range of products and services in the U.S., Latin America and in select markets in Europe and Asia-Pacific.

 

More specifically, GBM provides clients with: corporate lending; transaction banking (including payments, trade finance and cash management); investment banking (including corporate finance and mergers & acquisitions); fixed income and equity underwriting, sales, trading and research; prime services (prime brokerage and stock lending); foreign exchange sales and trading; commodity derivatives; and collateral management.


What You'll Do:

You will assist with the credit process by providing high-quality analysis and account management support by:

  • Performing certain fundamental credit analysis functions, for the various industries across Global Corporate Banking and GCM Banking, as assigned
  • Perform analytics functions including financial statement analysis and risk assessment, with extremely high attention to detail andaccuracy, in accordance with guidelines, policies and established procedures
  • Analyze, prepare and process annual reviews or credit requests in accordance with Bank policies and guidelines
  • Develop product knowledge/expertise
  • Develop industry expertise for assigned industries
  • Provide clear, concise rational supporting actions and recommendations for client solutions
  • Complete other CAG tasks in connection with quality control
  • Complete other tasks as assigned, i.e. research, assisting industries in special projects
  • Maintain a consistent professional approach in interactions with key stakeholders
  • Mentor new co-ops and assist with group training


What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor of Commerce, Masters or MBA or CPA is preferred
  • Financial modelling skills an asset
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Solid financial accounting knowledge and the ability to read financial statements
  • Knowledge of products and processes for risk assessment and for the execution of transactions
  • Experience with the identification and analysis of key risks of existing or proposed clients and/or transactions
  • Ability to conduct industry/client research, process annual reviews and interim requests
  • Demonstrated skills to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines, while maintaining a high standard of work
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Spanish or French would be an asset but not essential

Work Arrangement: 

This position is an onsite role, with the expectation that you will work 5 days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
