The Global Banking & Markets (GBM) First Line Testing Program (The Program) is part of the bank’s three lines of defense and plays a key role in the bank’s internal control system. The Program’s mandate is to provide independent and objective assurance over the design and effectiveness of internal AML controls.

Reporting to the GBM First Line testing Associate (Associate), the incumbent ensures specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of GBM Internal Controls strategies and objectives.

The Analyst will be responsible for assessing operational effectiveness of AML controls including but not limited to KYC, UTR, ACRM across GBM products and operations. In addition, the Analyst in coordination with their peers will support the Associate/Director in determining the overall result of the reviews completed.

The Analyst is expected to work independently while ensuring progress is reported on a timely manner.

The incumbent will also assist in the implementation of new testing projects.

The Analyst is a key team member that contributes to the overall success of the Program and the bank’s AML vision.






  • Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Assess key AML control points of a sample, quantifies errors, defines associated impact, documents findings, and if applicable, assess management action plans in accordance with Issue Management Standards.
  • Identifies, communicates and tracks system/reporting improvement opportunities and participate in the implementation process.
  • Writes testing reports with high quality standards within the expected timeline. Identifies opportunities to optimize the testing process.
  • Performs data integrity checks and reconciliations to ensure the databases are valid.
  • Support in delivering future AML QA program phases due to changes in the regulatory landscape, system/process enhancements or updates



Education / Experience



  • Bilingual (Spanish or Portuguese) is mandatory
  • Bachelor’s degree (or relevant work experience in Business, Engineer, Law, Finance, Economics)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office
  • Proven ability to effectively analyze large amounts of transactions or customer file
  • Desired at least 2 years of experience in Audit, Compliance or Quality Control or related consulting experience
  • Desired at least 2 years of experience in AML control areas such as EDDU, FIU, Onboarding, Desired or corporate banking
  • Professional qualifications (ACAMs, PMP, Six Sigma) will be considered an asset
  • Ability to write clearly and concisely
  • Strong strategic, analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. Results oriented.
  • A self-starter / takes initiative, deals well with ambiguity, detail-oriented
  • Comfortable leading small size projects but also with being part of a team
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to exercise diplomacy and judgement
  • Excellent teamwork, and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable with receiving and giving feedback in a constructive and proactive fashion
