Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of Cash Management Operations in the U.S., ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Accountabilities 

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Performs daily, weekly and monthly processes for servicing of Global Transaction Banking (GTB) products including but not limited to client/account lifecycle activities (open/maintain/close), balance & transaction reconciliations, interest/fee calculations & payments, client payment processing, statement processing, and various audit, regulatory and financial reporting deliverables.
  • Develop a robust understanding of supported GTB products and address client & internal inquiries in a timely & professional fashion, providing prompt resolutions & further troubleshooting issues as needed.
  • Assist in the identification, creation and/or maintenance of operational controls to mitigate risk and drive efficiencies in all processes.
  • Support Assistant Manager & team with any ad-hoc work as needed, including but not limited to regulatory requests or special projects.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Dimensions

  • Supports Global Transaction Banking, Global Banking and Markets, Global Cash Management and other global utilities.
  • Coverage and support spanning Canada, United States and Mexican stakeholders.
  • Usage of up to 10 in-house or external accounting or reporting systems.
  • Exposure to regulatory bodies such as Federal Reserve Banks, NY Department of Financial Services or Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation.


Education & Experience

  • 1-3 years of practical experience supporting Transaction Banking business, including but not limited to Payments/Deposits, FX Settlement and Liquidity Management.
  • Possess knowledge of Transaction Banking products with advanced technical acumen and solid risk management techniques preferred. 
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with the ability to effectively communicate with external clients and internal partners.
  • Must possess strong attention to detail, organizational, planning, time-management, problem solving & critical thinking skills.
  • Possess the ability to be a self-starter and team player.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Prior experience with Finacle, Duco, Power BI and other operational systems considered an asset. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related discipline considered an asset.


Working Conditions

  • Hybrid work environment with the expectation to be in office 3-4 times a week or as needed
  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
