Purpose

Lead and oversee the Structured Credit Group in Asia to drive revenue growth and expand market share by developing and executing strategies and initiatives in compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures.

Originate, structure, and distribute a range of synthetic and cash products, including broadly syndicated and middle market CLOs, Credit Facilities, Capital Calls, Structured Solutions as well as ABS products as the group grows.

The incumbent will build the business by cultivating relationships with Asian investors—banks, insurance companies, pension funds, and asset managers—and sourcing new opportunities. The role also involves tailoring strategies to local market dynamics and regulatory requirements, leveraging the global platform to deliver innovative solutions to Asian clients.

 

Accountabilities

  • Develop and execute origination strategies to achieve growth targets in structured credit across APAC, identifying and onboarding new clients active in the market
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, including key decision-makers, to deepen engagement and drive business opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and coordinate with other teams to ensure seamless delivery of products and services, identifying cross-sell opportunities for FICC/GBM products to support revenue growth
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify and capitalize on opportunities for market share expansion
  • Participate in industry events and conferences to promote the firm’s structured credit capabilities and foster connections with key industry participants
  • Provide regular updates to management on client activity, product development, and business results
  • Lead a customer-focused culture within the team, leveraging broader bank relationships, systems, and knowledge to enhance the client experience
  • Ensure that the Bank’s risk appetite, risk culture, and compliance standards are embedded in day-to-day activities and decision-making
  • Foster a high-performance, inclusive team environment by attracting, retaining, developing, and motivating team members

 

Dimensions

  • Take a leading role in developing a strong distribution platform for syndicated and middle market CLOs, Credit Facilities, Credit Derivatives and ABS products
  • Subject matter expert on all structured credit product offerings, educating the wider sales force and providing technical guidance to the distribution team
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of securitization processes (CLO/IFO/CFO/RNF/SRT etc), Credit Facilities, Credit Derivatives (TRS/CDS/NPI/Guarantees etc), along with assorted other financing instruments
  • Support the region's efforts to establish this business and take charge of building direct client relationships
  • Maintain familiarity with pertinent financial and regulatory standards
  • Ensure compliance with all appropriate regulatory registration obligations

 

Education / Experience / Other Information (include only those that are specific to the role)

  • Candidates must have a proven history placing CLO/ABS bonds, and other structured products
  • Strong relationships with end investors; and preferably with CLO managers
  • Bachelor’s degree required; CFA/CA designation is an asset
  • At least 8 years’ experience in securitization structuring, sales, or syndication
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem-solving abilities and pragmatic mindset
  • Strong interpersonal and client-focused skills
  • Able to manage priorities and work under pressure
  • Team-oriented approach
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, securities regulations, and industry best practices to ensure compliance

 

Working Conditions

  • Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
  • Frequent travel within the APAC region, and moderate travel globally.
