Internal Control, Asia Pacific (IC APAC) is responsible for ensuring that the Global Banking & Markets (GBM) units of the Bank in Asia Pacific region has the appropriate controls to manage operational risks and adheres to regulatory requirements relevant to the business.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring that GBM policies and procedures are consistently implemented to effectively manage the operational risks applicable to the business units.
- Ensuring that applicable new business and technology initiatives emanating from or launched in the region and those initiated by other GBM groups but that have an impact on any or all of the APAC GBM units, are handled in accordance with the GBM New Initiative Risk Assessment process.
- Ensuring that the processes and practices in the new and existing businesses meet the applicable regulatory requirements.

Overview
As an intern within IC APAC, you will be responsible for supporting various activities and gaining relevant exposures:
Risk reviews
- Participate in Business risk review e.g. Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) and Operational Risk Events review, including:
- Assist in reviewing business end to end process and key controls documentation.
- Assessing the design and operating effectiveness of business processes.
- Connect end to end process between front office to support functions and identify enhancement opportunities.
- Assist in Key risk indicator monitoring and escalate threshold breaches.
- Support preparation of various local governance and management committee meetings.
Governance and supervision
- Support trade supervisory oversight and monitoring processes and tasks e.g., coordinate trading oversight reporting and Trade Floor Supervision related activities.
- Support monitoring business activities in accordance with the Trade Floor Supervision program.
Requirements
- Studying for a degree / major in Finance/Accounting/Business/Economics. Other disciplines will also be considered.
- Preferably in Year 2 or final year of undergraduate studies
- Display strong appreciation of controls and non-financial risk concepts and be undertaking Business, Finance or Accounting degree.
