OVERVIEW

 

In this role you will be part of Code Control & Automation Technology Operations team, managing DEV/QAT Environment and coordinating multiple UAT activities

 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Ensure the DEV/QAT environment infrastructure and processing requirements are evaluated regularly. 
  • Ensure all required upgrades are performed in a timely manner to avoid unplanned negative impacts. 
  • Keep current of available hardware and software technology, as well as all the IBS applications. 
  • Stay in tune to the industry's technical direction, and taps into IB business directions. 
  • Maintain a clear comprehension of the planned projects to anticipate environmental changes that maybe needed.
  • Review planned activities for future initiatives, participate in forward-planning sessions and identify/ resolve conflicts between initiatives.
  • Approve code implementation strategies to avoid risks during Production delivery, and code changes during testing for implications on environmental needs. 
  • Appraise outstanding issues impacting the promotion of code to the Production environment and provide updates and options to minimize associated risks.
  • Utilizes project management skills to ensure projects are on track and schedule.  Provide technical directions and consultations. 
  • Ensure human and technical resources are available to the projects as required.
  • Work closely with QAT and Value Stream teams to understand testing requirements and provide options and recommendations for addressing testing needs.
  • Provide feedback to QAT in test strategies from an environment and deployment perspective.
  • Continuously review and identify improvement opportunities for team efficiency and effectiveness.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Excellent leadership skills to direct large groups at varying levels (may include managers, senior technical analyst, intermediate technical analyst, etc.) towards common objectives
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and forward thinking skills to coordinate the environment and staff resources to meet the demands of multiple concurrent projects.
  • Expert understanding of UAT/DEV standards and methodology
  • Solid understanding of change process and related systems/ technology to deliver code to UAT/DEV servers, controllers and PC's and the ability to assess the risk and impact of the changes
  • Expert understanding of code library management 
  • Expert understanding of multiple UAT environments and their relationship to code delivery and business functions
  • Solid understanding of technical implications of code changes
  • Complete understanding of the relationship between complex banking systems, their interfacing applications, environmental resources and code layering; this seasoned and specialized knowledge is acquired through hands-on experience with the business and technical dimensions of multifaceted projects
  • Full awareness of current and future projects planned for IB to provide strategic recommendations and direction
  • Strong decision making skills to resolve conflicts arising over a wide range of DEV/UAT activities
  • Conceptual thinking skills to achieve department objectives
  • Effective communication skills to address issues with QAT test teams and other department staff who have varying degrees of experience and technological knowledge
  • Exercising judgment and initiative in the research and development of recommendations for code management
