Job Purpose

The Collection Quality Assurance Testing Specialist is responsible for planning, integrating, overseeing and coordinating activities related to the delivery and on-going support of a Collections systems (current and new) into multiple Scotiabank platforms across multiple geographies.


Key Accountabilities

  • Provide insight, planning expertise for on-going Collections related projects, specifically our new Enterprise wide solution - Cyber Financial, as well existing Debt Manager and Global Dialer solutions.
  • Provide on-going support, training, over-sight and best practices for: Business Analysis; Technical Design Review; Quality Assurance Testing; Release Code Management; Change Control; and Risk Assessment and Management; and Production Support to our partners including the new Centre of Excellence in Colombia.
  • Manage on-shore and off-shore external resources to meet Collections project deliverables
  • To be a trusted advisor as well as the Collections subject matter expert to technical and business partners, offering solutions to immediate problems and to develop longer term strategies.


Functional Competencies

  • Customer focus with respect to Collections processing, able to understand the challenges faced by internal operation groups as well as the impact to our credit product customers
  • Business Analysis and/or Quality Assurance experience with: artifact preparation; Agile or SDLC methodologies; Large scale applications
  • Technical understanding of database queries, file transfers, and/or security encryption
  • Possess a results focused mindset; is proactive, analytical, resourceful; and committed to delivering workable solutions within challenging time frames
  • Effective problem solving skills (ability to connect the dots) and is highly skilled in communicating to team members: problem insight; solution alternatives; and recommendations.


Education/ Work Experience

  • Language fluency in English and Spanish
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree at any recognized English or Spanish speaking University
