JOB SUMMARY:

The Release & Test Environment Management organization is an evolving area with an intense focus on balancing velocity and quality in delivering customer features.

 

Reporting to the Senior Manager Release and Test Environment Management, the Senior Release Management Analyst (Senior Technical Analyst) will assist to transform release management and enhance release orchestration of Mid-Tier/Mainframe releases, as well as working with the Client Partner teams to facilitate the release activities.

 

The primary purpose of the role is to contribute to the department's transformation by providing advice that may require technical/process inputs with operational awareness of up-to-date industry tooling. Our organization is adapting DevOps practices and is looking to enhance and modernize our delivery processes.  The Senior Technical Analyst is highly driven, adaptable, results oriented and cultivates collaboration in pursuit of Continuous Delivery and Deployment with quality.

 

To lead the releases, Senior Technical Analyst must thrive on challenge, be proactive, dynamic and demonstrate initiative and eagerness to learn.  This includes planning, implementing process improvements, and supporting solutions enabling real-time application software delivery. This role works with the Quality Assurance Testing, Development, Project Management, Security and Infrastructure Automation teams.

 

As required, the Senior Technical Analyst will have occasional support duties.  To meet project deliverables, may be required to work extended hours, including the weekends.

 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Understand and apply DevOps principles to the Release Management process to improve the delivery pipeline and introduce efficiencies of Continuous Delivery (CD) to any given environment.

• Provide technical assistance and manage releases by working collaboratively with our stakeholders, including release planning, environment mapping, and proactively monitoring the health of integrated releases.

• Resolve and escalate conflicts related to Release Management day to day tasks.

• Review and recommend improvements to Release Management processes.

• Understand and contribute to the Release Management Road maps.

• Take responsibility of the Release Management activities and track it to closure.

• Work in partnership with our Tech Mahindra managed Shared Services team to deliver on release services to our stakeholders.

• Coordinate with Development and Quality Assurance teams to ensure timely delivery of features, bug fixes, and improvements into multiple environments.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• You have 3+ years of progressive technical working experience in a Release Management role.

• You have technical working experience with Change Management.

• You have technical working experience with Agile and DevOps philosophies, and how it relates to Release Management.

• You possess a good understanding of Release Management and Processes

• You have strong analytical and problem solving skills.

• Must have excellent communication (verbal/written/presentation) & interpersonal skills.

• You are detail-oriented and process oriented.

• Demonstrated ability to react to changes in established plans, which often require immediate resolution.

• Possess working knowledge with any industry-recognized build & deploy automation tools & cloud services.

• Possess technical working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

 

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

Post-secondary education in Computer Science or in another technical or engineering stream.
