The Role:

As the Senior Project Leader (Technical Navigator), you will ensure delivery of technically complex business solutions targeted at various business units. You will coordinates development, delivery and support activities and ensures deliverables are of the highest quality while adhering to defined release, change, project and architectural standards and methodologies by leveraging a team of technical staff.

You will manage resources, sub-projects and activities, while contributing to delivery goals in direct support of business and technology drivers (including revenue goals and customer project targets).

You will contribute to the overall success of the Customer Systems area, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Is this role right for you?

  • Facilitate agile ceremonies including iteration planning, iteration review, retrospectives, and daily standups
  • Identify, manage, and help mitigate issues and risks, with particular emphasis on timely removal of impediments for the team and/or directing obstacles to appropriate owners for quick resolution
  • Develop strong partnership with the Product Owner / Business stakeholders to gain strong understanding of objectives, sustain open dialogue to manage product backlog efficiently
  • Lead and coach the organization in its agile adoption, sharing successes, artifacts, and experience to accelerate transition to new delivery models.
  • Communicate effectively across diverse audiences within and outside of the development team (Stakeholders, Executives), acting as a champion of the agile methodology
  • Leads the execution of day-to-day project and maintenance/support work efforts and meeting customer expectations for contracted time, cost and specification definitions.
  • Responsible for assembling and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.
  • Responsible for managing releases comprising of multiple implementations of one or more applications end to end ensuring all the gates such as on time development, security and QA are followed. This includes ability to manage Operational Readiness and respective approvals, Architecture Review Board triage submissions and LETs (with the support and supervision of the Senior Manager Dev). Responsible for ensuring test and release environments are all aligned and in sync, there is no room for error in this as any slight error can take away team’s productivity and ability to meet the critical product release/implementation deadline.
  • Have good understanding on existing web and cloud applications (including complex application systems), evaluate problems, identify actions to be taken and recommend solutions. Understand and work in accordance with Bank application architectural guidelines.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or technical equivalent
  • Certified in agile methodologies (CSM, Kanban KMP)
  • 5 - 7 years of total technical work experience.
  • 5+ yeas of hands on project management experience, driving technology projects (software development and application infrastructure).
  • 5+ years of team management experience with interdisciplinary teams
  • Strong leadership skill to lead large initiatives and work with multiple technology teams across the bank
  • The incumbent has developed code before transitioning into lead role
  • Has an appetite to challenge the status quo, tackle difficult problems and seek/give constant feedback
  • Embraces change and sees it as an essential driver to solve complex issues
