Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of Identity and Access Management Operations (IAMO) by ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Is this role right for you? In this role you will:
- Accountability and oversight of the IAMO - Key platform provisioning teams responsible for Unix, Database, ACF2, Tandem and As400 end user access provisioning
- Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge
- Centralize multiple intake channels for IAMO, including consultation on process / policy; project scoping and estimation; and support ticket escalation
- Prioritize and assign requests to IAMO Key Platforms teams, based on the required expertise
- Prioritize, classify, track and report on request escalations
- Provide after-hours availability for any urgent issues / incidents / escalations
- Coordinate with 2nd and 3rd level support when applicable and provide resolution recommendations to management
- Escalate all high priority issues affecting availability, customer impact and user impact to the Global Head, Identity and Access Management Operations
- Identify any reoccurring issues that affect the user experience, the volume of requests received or the ability of IAMO to deliver on SLAs and participate in problem solving sessions with related teams as required
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook, and the Guidelines for Business Conduct
- Provide ticket/request evidence to Audit on a per-request basis where needed
- Respond to Audit requests with an ETA within 24 hours of initial request

- The incumbent adheres to internal security policies, per directives set by the Chief Information Security Officer
- The incumbent receives general guidance and information from IAMO management team, team including the Director and/or Global Head, on a regular basis
- The incumbent defers to the Director and/or the Global Head on all matters regarding policy, and all matters requiring escalation
- The incumbent is expected in turn, to provide background information on all matters, as well as recommendations and the effect of proposed actions to the Senior Manager to assist him/her in making decisions
- Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management principles, concepts, and goals
- Strong understanding of Mainframe, Tandem, and Access Control, an provisioning operations
- Broad knowledge of the services and platforms provided supported by IAMO and GIAM
- Knowledge of Scotiabank IT teams and their interactions would be an asset
- Experience in provisioning and managing user access
- Excellent organization skills and the ability to manage multiple intake channels efficiently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Technical designation is considered an asset (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP)
- Fluency in Spanish is considered an asset
