Purpose of Job:


The Billing Lab is a cross-functional agile team engaged in a multiphase program to deliver an enhanced billing experience for Corporate, Commercial and Small Business customers across North America.

The Senior Manager, Billing & Monitoring, will work jointly with the Product Owner in outlining the business requirements and prioritize deliverables based on value-added to our customers’ banking experience. This position will constantly look for feedback from customers, Product Managers, Channels and other partner teams to daily manage the product backlog as well as a long-term roadmap.

This position is a great fit for business professionals passionate for continuous operational improvements. As products get on-boarded to the new billing process, the senior manager will become a subject matter expert who will help the development teams overcome roadblocks and maintain delivery speed. In order to accomplish this, the Senior Manager will be a highly motivated and hands-on individual who can liaise with internal teams to map-out billing processes as well as remain informed about the competitive landscape.

Major Accountabilities:


  1. Gather customer feedback
  • Conduct periodic interviews with customers to understand their needs and identify product gaps to be added to backlog
  • Interview internal users of impacted applications to identify operational efficiencies to be added to the backlog.


  1. Backlog management
  • Participate in agile ceremonies (daily stand up, sprint reviews, retrospectives) and provide business direction to the technology team.
  • Lead customer’s journey mapping ceremonies.
  • Approve user stories added to the backlog with a clear definition of done.
  • Test and approve delivered functionality from a final user perspective.
  • Escalate blockers when risks are identified by the lab.


  1. Revenue management
  • Coordinate with Product teams and other supporting areas to identify and eliminate revenue leakage associated to billing issues.
  • Monitor the efficient roll-out


  1. Change Management
  • Conduct gap analysis between current processes and product vision to ensure a successful roll-out plan for billing deliverables.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to communicate material impact on existing processes.
  • Support the creation of user guides and training material catered to specific audiences.




  • Min. 3 years of experience working with Deposit or Payment products
  • Experience working directly with business customers is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong data driven approach, utilizing key metrics and evidence in decision making.
  • Expert use of MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL queries is an asset.


Education and accreditation:


Degree in Business, Finance, Information Technology, or related experience.
