The Team
The Global Identity & Access Management (GIAM) organization is responsible for the execution and governance of established security controls pertaining to identity and access.  This includes the centralized provisioning and periodic certification of user identities, the user accounts linked to those identities, management of privileged access, as well as the selection and integration of identity management tools.

The mandate of the Enterprise Access Governance (EAG) team, within GIAM, is to centrally provision all identities for employees/contractors/vendors that require access to Scotiabank’s network according to established, standardized processes.  The mandate of the team also includes governance activities that periodically certify the continued appropriateness of access of these identities to Bank systems.


The role
Reporting to a Senior Manager, the Information Senior Information Security Analyst (EAG) will be responsible to plan, organize and run end to end certification campaigns consistently and within the agreed certification schedule. They will be responsible to ensure regular cleanup of EAG data (Orphans, revocations, Uncorrelated users, bundle violations etc.) is done throughout the year so campaigns are clean and effective. The role will entail improving the end user experiences by supporting their inquiries and issues. Periodic after-hours support will be required.

  • Interview business stakeholders in order to define and document Access Control Matrix and related documents for application onboarding projects
  • Establish a strong working relationship with the various business partners among Canadian Banking, International Banking, Global Banking & Markets, Global Wealth & Insurance and internal IT&S teams to ensures access certification and access termination changes provides value and consistency 
  • Initialize continued process improvements of access governance
  • Perform required tasks for access governance functions; tasks relevant to Identity & Access Governance including access request, access certification, communication, and documentation of operational processes and procedures, etc
  • Other duties as assigned by management
  • Provide after-hours support for urgent issues / incidents / escalations

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • Knowledge of Logical Access Control and Provisioning tools for Identity Access Management
  • Knowledge of identity life cycle
  • Strong knowledge of information security policies and standards
  • Strong analytical skills, specifically data analysis
  • Strong technical knowledge of Operating systems and platforms, i.e. Windows Active Directory, UNIX-flavor systems and/or LDAP
  • Excellent working knowledge of standard MS Office Suite - Excel & Access, Project and Visio tools
  • Experience with Bank new hire, change and termination processes
  • University degree or college diploma in a related field  
  • MCSA or MCSE designations (nice to have)
  • CISSP designation or equivalent (nice to have)
  • Experience with SailPoint – Identity IQ/Security IQ and/or other Identity Management systems experience would be an asset
