The Senior Financial Analyst, Contributes to the overall success of the Planning, Forecasting & Analysis team in Technology Finance ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
 

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Contributes to all aspects of the Technology Finance staffing movements and approvals, including daily processing of Complete Change Requests, tracking of approved changes / contractor conversions / SCT cost savings initiatives and preparation of monthly / quarterly reports.
  • Acts as Finance relationship contact for staffing; providing financial guidance to Technology partners, identifying and communicating financial-related issues (e.g. actual/committed vs. budget/forecast), and obtaining inputs for bottom-up forecasting, planning, and variance analysis.
  • Champions continual improvements to processes and reporting.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.

Experience / Education:

 

  • Undergraduate degree in relevant field with progress towards a professional designation (e.g. CPA, CFA) or graduate degree (e.g. MBA) preferred
  • Strong technical skills in MS Excel (MS Excel VBA would be an asset)
  • Attention to detail is crucial
  • Knowledge of financial and management reporting principles as applied to banking issues, and an understanding of the business planning process, dealing with accounting systems, budgets and internal controls
