Reporting to the Director, the Data Loss Prevention, the Information Security Analyst Senior is a member of a team responsible for the ongoing assessment of exceptions involving the loss or exposure of Scotiabank informational assets.  The Information Security Analyst Senior is responsible to provide a high level of customer service for the identification of events involving the loss or exposure of Scotiabank’s informational assets.  The Information Security Analyst Senior will work directly with the Director, Data Protection & Loss Prevention to assess and escalate incidents of data loss or exposure.



  • Assess and triage Service-Now tickets for exception requests to Bank Policies and ensure that potential loss or exposure of Scotiabank’s informational assets is mitigated.
  • Communicate with users and escalate issues to Management accordingly. 
  • Recommend strategic security solutions and security control improvements specific to the enhancement of DLP exception request processing.



  • Post-secondary education with studies focused on information/cyber security or 1 to 3 years of current and working knowledge in the field of information or cyber security.
  • Strong approach to critical thinking, analytics, and very detail oriented.
  • Able to work extremely well under pressure while maintaining a high level of professionalism is critical.
  • Demonstrate a current and working knowledge of Information Security best-practices, methodologies, and techniques
  • Highly skilled in customer service
  • Technical service desk experience is an asset
  • Proficiency in technical writing & communication for a business audience in English and Spanish
  • Professional certifications and membership of associations in information/cyber security (eg. Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)) would be an asset(s).
