JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director, Release & Test Environment Management & Canadian Banking Technology (CBT) DevOps Enablement, the QA Delivery Specialist, Release & Test Environment Management (QA Delivery Specialist) is responsible for leading the transformation of the release and test environment organization, focusing on establishing industry best practices to drive stability and risk management principles for change management.  The QA Delivery Specialist will be directly accountable for the implementation and adoption of a risk based change management mandate.

 

• Responsible for Change/Release workflow process and tool.

• Work with applicable stakeholders to identify and drive process improvements to established standards and best practices.

• Design, create and manage training and education for Release/Change processes and tools.

 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Owner of the Change/Release management workflow process within the Release & Test Environment (RTEM) mandates.

• Govern and influence adoption of Change & Release processes within Canadian Banking.

• Identify and lead process deficiency troubleshooting; determine and recommend resolutions.

• Provide dynamic management of process changes to the RTEM, Change Initiators and stakeholder teams to improve stability, risk management and overall change delivery.

• Represent Release Management as a leader in departmental initiatives.

• Work with IT to implement and support tools for release management, deployment, monitoring and operations.

• Streamline and implement policies and procedures for release management.

• Build strong working relationship with peers among our technology partners.

• Communicate effectively with all members of the organization.

• Lead by example to drive excellence and overall team success.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• You possess excellent communication and presentation skills to prepare and present material to an executive audience.

• You have a solid understanding of Change/Release management principles, processes and standards.  Associated with this, completion of the various ITIL certifications are a significant advantage.

• You possess demonstrated technical working experience with process re-engineering; ideally with Change/Release workflow process & best practices.

• You have technical working knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and a familiarity with software release management technologies and concepts.

• You possess technical working experience with different technology platforms.

• You have demonstrated working experience as an excellent team player with creativity & a self-motivated, positive attitude.

• You have a strong desire for continued personal growth.

• Having working experience with enterprise change/release management toolsets (ServiceNow, Remedy or other) is an asset.

Technical working experience or knowledge with Site Reliability Engineering is an asset.

 

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

• Post-secondary education in Computer Science or related field of study.
