Programmer Analyst Senior will be supporting the Senior Manager, International Business Systems Wealth & Insurance Technology, in developing business solutions for International Wealth Management business group. Working with Global Wealth, International Banking Systems, and others groups – Programmer Analyst Senior will be responsible for the effective analysis, design, development, implementation and support of mission critical, risk management and decision support systems of medium to high complexity.





We are looking for an experienced Programmer Analyst to


  1. Develop cost effective and efficient applications to meet business objectives by analyzing user requirements, providing technical specifications and design and developing/maintaining programs according to standards. The incumbent must ensure programs and applications developed meet the high availability, integrity and reliability of the on-line transaction processing environment
  2. Provide production and user acceptance testing support to assigned applications by identifying, evaluating, escalating, resolving problems and supporting other team members. The incumbent is required to carry a beeper approximately 50% of the time to ensure systems support is readily available and that systems are operational according to documented user service level agreements. 
  3. Implement new systems or enhancements by reviewing programs written by team members, establishing and executing system test procedures, developing implementation plan, developing the required program and system documentation and ensuring all functionality has been delivered as required. The incumbent is also required to provide post implementation support and training to the computer operations staff on the production processing functionality.
  4. Assist project leader or Manager by supervising more junior staff, providing backup support to the Project Leader or Manager, assisting with the development of detailed workplaces and monitoring progress against plan.
  5. Provide technical guidance and review to other team members by conducting technical walkthroughs.
  6. Keep current on rapidly changing technological trends, self-teach new technologies and maintain an understanding of the Division’s business and technology strategies.
  7. Provide overnight production support to assigned applications.





You should have

  • good understanding of business systems analysis and development.
  • good analytical, problem solving and trouble shooting skills in order to develop and support systems to meet user requirements.
  • creativity and flexibility in identifying technical solutions to resolve business problems in a rapidly changing, demanding and complex business environment.
  • detailed understanding of the application systems you’re responsible for.
  • good interpersonal and communication skills in order to deliver proposals, provide user support and interact with team members and other departments.
  • A broad understanding and knowledge of the banking products, services, market trends, computer services, planning and control tools and organized structure.
  • Ability to provide after-hours on-call production support
  • A degree in computer science, math or engineering related discipline, along with 3-5 years practical experience.


You must have a thorough knowledge of the following technical skills:

  • Client/server computing
  • System analyses and design
  • Working with Scrum teams and knowledge of agile methodology will be desirable.
  • Multi-faceted work in Agile team including application testing,
  • Multiple operating platforms, such as UNIX, AS400, Windows.
  • Programming languages CLLE, RPGLE, SQL400 and programming methodologies
  • Networking, communications and on-line transaction processing (OLTP) technologies
  • Object oriented programming and DB2/400 database technology
  • Development techniques, such as debugging, testing, coding, use of productivity tools
  • Hardware and operating system configuration
  • Software packages used by the Division (Office 365, Microsoft Office Full Suite of 2013 or 2016, Project, Visio)
  • EDP security standards
