The Role:
The Manager, Finance & Credit File Integrity (CFI) provides financial leadership, oversight, and governance for ScotiaHelps Canada, ensuring effective planning, reporting, and forecasting, supported by strong financial and operational controls that enable business performance and decision-making. The role also provides people leadership and direction for the CFI function, leading a centralized team responsible for the intake, investigation, and resolution of credit bureau reporting discrepancies, ensuring accurate and timely outcomes while maintaining compliance with internal policies and regulatory expectations.
Is this role right for you? - In this role you will:
• Maintains financial controls across expense management, planning, and forecasting.
• Produces monthly and quarterly financial results, including variance analysis and general ledger
reviews.
• Ensures accurate and timely financial reporting aligned to business drivers.
• Provides insights to support cost management and business decision-making.
• Supports audits by maintaining effective and documented financial and operational controls.
• Identifies and implements improvements to financial processes, controls, and reporting.
• Leads and develops the CFI team, including performance management and coaching.
• Sets team priorities and drives delivery against service levels and quality standards.
• Promotes a culture of accountability, controls, and continuous improvement.
• Leads the intake, prioritization, and resolution of credit bureau correction requests.
• Manages the end-to-end correction lifecycle to ensure timely and accurate outcomes.
• Maintains documentation and control practices to support audit and regulatory requirements.
• Leads resolution of complex or escalated cases with stakeholder alignment.
• Monitors performance and identifies capacity, training, and process improvement opportunities.
• Identifies trends and partners with stakeholders to address root causes.
• Acts as the key point of contact for credit bureau corr
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
• University degree in Finance or Business or equivalent experience.
• Strong background in financial reporting, planning, forecasting, and analysis.
• Experience in credit bureau processes preferred.
• Proven people leadership experience.
• Minimum 5 years of banking experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
