The Role:

 

Leads and oversees a team managing the daily production and fulfillment of all credit and debit cards and collateral. Responsible for ensuring optimized efficient consistent with Scotia Service standards minimizing the Bank’s exposure to risk. Accountabilities include annual budget management of $35MM + annually. Lending, card issuance forecasting, reporting and implementation of system/process enhancements to improve service delivery, tracking and analysis and invoice validation. COUPA Contract ownership and related activities 

 

Is this role right for you? - In this role you will:

 

  • Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Manages and monitors daily card production volumes and ensures that service level agreements are met by the card issuance, fulfilment and collateral vendors. Manages investigation and resolution of all card production and fulfilment issues for VIP, dailies, and reissues.
  • Oversees and monitors inventory levels for all card plastics, chip modules and collaterals for the production and fulfilment of credit and debit card products. Accountable for projections and forecasting of card issuance volumes for dailies and reissues to ensure all orders for plastic manufactures, chip modules, chip milling/embedding, and collaterals are placed in an accurate and timely manner. Maximizes inventory order price breaks and closely assess inventory expiry timelines. Ensures sufficient supply of cards and collaterals are maintained.
  • Manages the annual budget for all Card Operations expenses such as plastic manufactures, card package collaterals, data processing, courier/postage costs, programming and other related expenses. Performs a monthly review of the Card Operations budget and provides variance explanations to Senior Manager & Finance. Prepares and submits quarterly PST allocation adjustment entries. Validates and authorizes payments for monthly invoices related to Card Operations
  • Performs ad hoc annual audit and validation of all card plastic inventory held at the card production and fulfilment vendor and ensures monthly invoice audit on vendor plastic invoices is completed & included in monthly vendor operations dashboard. Manages the Disaster Resumption Plan (DRP) for the inventory of card plastics, chip modules and collaterals.
  • Initiates and leads implementation of enhancements to improve overall service delivery. Provides expertise and support with the execution and launch of all card and collateral production and fulfilment projects and initiatives. Participates in card package production output validation sessions with Retail Products following project launches.
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.   • Expert knowledge of the Bank’s retail products and services
  • Expert knowledge of card manufacturing, personalization, and fulfilment of credit, debit and prepaid cards products
  • Sound understanding of the Bank’s operational policies and procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of the Image and AS400 KS/Host systems
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills
  • Ability to interpret and organize data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional PC skills with high degree of experience with Excel spreadsheets, macros and pivot tables
