The Team
The Global Identity & Access Management (GIAM) organization is responsible for the execution and governance of established security controls pertaining to identity and access.  This includes the centralized provisioning and periodic certification of user identities, the user accounts linked to those identities, management of privileged access, as well as the selection and integration of identity management tools.

 

The mandate of the Enterprise Access Governance (EAG) team, within GIAM, is to centrally provision all identities for employees/contractors/vendors that require access to Scotiabank’s network according to established, standardized processes.  The mandate of the team also includes governance activities that periodically certify the continued appropriateness of access of these identities to Bank systems.

 

The role:

Reporting to a Senior Manager, the Information Security Analyst Advisory (EAG) will be responsible to plan, organize and run end to end certification campaigns consistently and within the agreed certification schedule. They will be responsible to ensure regular cleanup of EAG data (Orphans, revocations, Uncorrelated users, bundle violations etc.) is done throughout the year so campaigns are clean and effective. The role will entail improving the end user experiences by supporting their inquiries and issues. In this role you are required to lead in Audit sessions and provide artifacts back to them within the requested SLA. Participate in projects to help contribute and enhance the data governance practices. Periodic after-hours support will be required.

  • You have a strong customer service focus, while recognizing the need for appropriate risk and security controls
  • You have strong data analytical skills and have experience working in relational data management systems like SQL/Oracle and are proficient in advanced Excel and/or MS Access and/or Power BI skills to prepare dashboard/Statistics/Reports
  • You want to grow your knowledge and understanding of Information Security concepts, technologies and processes
  • You consistently demonstrate personal accountability for assigned initiatives and daily processes
  • You have effective communication skills, and can present ideas up to Director level
  • You have knowledge of Logical Access Control and Provisioning tools for Identity Access Management and identity life cycle

 

Operations:

  • Follow established processes and practices for tasks related to Identity and Access governance functions. Review established processes for inefficiencies and make recommendations for improvement/automation
  • Provide support, as needed, for daily operations, certification campaigns, onboarding applications, audit inquires related to EAG systems Work with more junior team members to uplift their knowledge and capabilities on mainframe technologies
  • Assist with developing and updating documentation. Run books for Certification campaigns, Onboarding, Dashboard/Reporting and other EAG operational processes and procedures 
  • Liaise with 2nd and 3rd level support as well as vendor, as required
  • Escalate all high priority issues affecting availability, customer impact and user impact to the Manager/Director of the team
  • Provide after-hours support for urgent issues / incidents / escalations

 

Audit/Risk Control:

  • Provide reports and data related to audits and walkthroughs of internal controls for GIAM EAG owned processes
  • Taking guidance from the manager/director, participate in the process of investigating control deficiencies and recommending solutions to address/mitigate the deficiencies

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management principles, concept and goals
  • You have 5+ years experience in an operations role in a large organization with ability to demonstrate analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills
  • You have 5 + years of security experience in Access Management or related field
  • Must have 2 + years of experience in working with SQL/Oracle and advanced Excel, Microsoft Access and Power BI tools
  • Experience working on projects and familiar with different project management methodologies and concepts
  • Have previous experience in handling and responding to Audit requests and other control partners
  • Must have strong organization & time management, relationship management, and facilitation skills
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives
  • Spanish fluency would be an asset.
