Job Purpose

Designs and evolves risk models to measure the extent of the Bank's cyber security risk, oversees their implementation, supervises the analysis of the results and the reporting to the CIO's, CTO, all VP's and SVP's in technology and business lines globally.


Key Accountabilities

  • Designs and calibrates risk models to measure the extent of the Bank's cyber security risk which is a brand new field without established reference models.  Determines what should be measured, how it should be scored and aggregated to provide overall risk measurement of various aspects of cyber security to ensure the Bank's business lines are provided with the information necessary to make informed risk management decisions. 
  • Supervises the analysis of risk model results across all aspects of IT and information/cyber security risk management, provides commentary in relation to the reasons for the risk scores, changes in scores and recommended actions to mitigate risks in line with the Bank's risk appetite.
  • Engages with IT and business line leaders at the VP, SVP and EVP levels to explain the results, their implications and strategically influence their actions to deliver the desired outcomes


Functional Competencies

  • Strong understanding of technology and associated risks to confidentiality, integrity, availability and continuity.
  • Strong analytical skills to design and calibrate complex models to measure risks, defend them against challenges by the second line of defense, auditors, regulators, etc.
  • Strong writing skills to articulate the reasons for risk scores, their changes and recommendations to mitigate them in line with the Bank's risk appetite.
  • Strong relationship management and strategic influencing skills to establish strong connections with and influence the behaviours of the global network of IT and business line leaders.
  • Strong collaboration skills to work with all information security and cyber security teams to understand their mandates, issues, risks, underlying data and incorporate these into models


Education/ Experience

  • University education in a related field.
  • Extensive experience in technology with a deep understanding of the architecture and technology stacks used in legacy and modern technical solutions.
