As a part of Scotiabank International Business Systems Data Integration & Central Services team, Data Analyst Intermediate will help business, turn data into information, information into insight and insight into business decisions. In this role, Data analyst will conduct full lifecycle analysis to include requirements, activities and design. Data analyst will develop analysis and reporting capabilities and will also monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements.




We are looking for an intermediate level experienced data analyst to


  • work with business partners to define their needs.
  • interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
  • identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • participate in data analytics projects (Machine Learning)
  • filter and “clean” data.
  • work with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • demonstrate customer focus, regularly speak to business groups and partner with business stakeholders to achieve strategic objectives




To be successful in this role, you will have


  • proven working experience as a data analyst
  • technical expertise regarding data models, data mining, segmentation techniques, and Machine learning.
  • experience with reporting packages (tableau), databases (SQL Server, Oracle etc.), programming (Python or JavaScript) and ETL frameworks
  • knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (MS Excel)
  • strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • experience of developing database queries, report writing and presenting findings
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills (Bilingual – English / Spanish communication skills preferred)
  • ability to work occasionally on evenings and weekends, as required
  • ability to travel to international locations, when required (in-frequent travel)
  • BA in Mathematics or Computer Science or Statistics
