The Team

The CBT – Product System – Analysis team is focused on supporting all technology initiatives that are delivered to our Retail, Commercial and Small Business Product partners.  The team collaborates with Business Partners, Developers and vendors to ensure the successful delivery of projects that align with business strategies and roadmaps.

The role:

The Business Solutions Expert collaborates with various teams across the organization ensuring the business needs and technical solutions are customer focused and aligned to business and IT strategies.  You will be a key contributor with expertise in a broad range of business and technology processes and leading in the coordination of IT estimates for business initiatives. 

Is this role right for you?

  • Strong knowledge of Financial Institutions products and services
  • Strong analysis, facilitation and communication skills with the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations
  • Provide expert knowledge of business processes, policies and systems and works to influence peers and senior management to adopt, implement and align.
  • Lead in the coordination of the Product System intake process by facilitating Ideation/ discovery sessions with business and technical partners and providing recommended solutions and estimates
  • Responsible for the successful implementation of specific business line solutions for projects, supporting highly complex business applications with complex integration needs across multiple technology domains
  • Formulates and defines requirements and information systems scope, and objectives based on a thorough understanding of the requirements and needs of the specific business line.
  • Requires minimal management direction and handles extremely complex problems.
  • Collaborates as the business lead with multiple technology groups and vendors to ensure that the application, integrations, infrastructure and security architectures are designed to meet evolving business requirements, meet standards for reliability, scalability, performance and availability and align with Scotia IT&S Technology roadmap.
  • Participates in authoring and maintenance of the business roadmap that outlines upcoming changes and outlines and manages impact to the data, process and reporting.


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • 7 to 10 years of business industry work experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in managing teams or projects on highly complex systems/business initiatives
  • Experience in very complex business and technical processes and their implications across the enterprise
  • Experience working in Agile development environments
  • Experience in project management disciplines/protocols.
  • Expert analysis and facilitation skills 
  • Expert knowledge of Canadian Banking in particular applications, processes and policies supporting Retail Branch Channel
