The role:

As a Data Architect you will contribute to the overall success of the Canadian Banking Technology data services in ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Reporting through a director to the Vice President, Revolving Credit, Data and Transaction, Canadian Banking Technology, the Data Architect provides, leadership and expertise in managing the delivery of the solution supplied by the Canadian Banking Technology team in Revolving Credit, Data and Transactions. You will provide technical leadership, management and product ownership leadership across the solution components.

 

Is this role right for you?

  • Financial project management (including planning, budgeting, forecasting, etc.)
  • Technical issue management (including leadership to propose resolution options and assist in evaluating the options, and driving to resolution)
  • Technical risk management (including proactive identification of risks, development of mitigation strategies, and proactive management)
  • Data capability placement including placement of functionality on solution components (i.e. where transformations, data validation, reconciliation is performed)
  • Data architecture including identifying system of record for attributes
  • Establishing data modelling outline (CDM) and performing LDM and PDM governance / review
  • Data solution design – from new components, to modification of existing components and design patterns.
  • Developing and gaining alignment on roles & responsibilities for delivery & support
  • Performing analysis on existing architecture, data pipelines, processes and developing and influencing teams to implement them
  • Ensure effective design and development in alignment of the Canadian Banking Technology data direction
  • Contributing to the corpus of knowledge, including the leading practices and standards, on-prem and cloud, across technology and process domains

  • Understanding of data integration concepts including metadata management, data quality management, data governance, data manipulation / transformation tools
  • Subject area experience with Financial Industry products and services preferred: Retail Banking/Lending, Commercial Banking/Lending, Capital Markets, and Wealth Management
  • Experience with innovation, design thinking, agile and the application of DataOps / DevOps
  • Experience in data integration projects (ETL/ELT, data design, data governance, data modelling, data analysis)
  • Deep experience in data management, especially of technical projects related to implementation with a minimum of $1MM budget
