Purpose
 


Lead the Talent Acquisition function for Scotiabank Caribbean, with responsibility for eight markets across the region, ensuring the availability of diverse, high-quality talent to support the Bank’s strategic priorities and sustainable business growth. The role is responsible for defining and executing the Caribbean talent acquisition strategy, aligned with Regional and Global Talent Acquisition priorities and the specific needs of Caribbean markets, leveraging market intelligence, analytics, workforce planning, and close collaboration with business leaders and Human Resources teams to influence key decisions related to hiring, succession planning, internal mobility, and critical capability development.

 

The position will be based in the Dominican Republic, the primary Talent Acquisition market within the Scotiabank Caribbean region and report to Talent Acquisition Regional Director.

 


Responsibilities 

 

 

•    Drive consistency, standardization and continuous improvement of Talent Acquisition processes, methodologies, tools, and practices, promoting an exceptional experience for candidates, leaders, and stakeholders while ensuring the effective management of the function’s resources and investments.

 

•    Develop and maintain an up-to-date understanding of talent markets across different segments, competitive landscapes, availability of critical capabilities, workforce dynamics, and labour regulations that influence attraction and recruitment strategies across different markets.

 

•    Act as a strategic partner to business leaders, HR Business Partners, and other Human Resources teams, influencing decisions related to workforce planning, hiring, succession, and internal mobility while promoting a balanced approach between business needs, talent development, and organizational diversity.

 

•    Design and drive differentiated talent attraction strategies for critical talent segments, including leadership roles, commercial, technical and digital talent, as well as emerging capabilities relevant to the business, expanding access to diverse talent pools and markets.

 

•    Lead leadership hiring, advising senior leaders on internal talent identification, succession alignment, and external talent mapping, ensuring a high-quality candidate and stakeholder experience together with excellence in execution.

 

•    Generate and leverage Talent Acquisition analytics, performance metrics, and market intelligence to identify trends, anticipate risks, generate insights, and strengthen decision-making related to Talent Acquisition performance, while ensuring operational efficiency, service level agreements, and continuous improvement across recruitment processes.

 

•    Continue building and developing a diverse, high-performing, cohesive, and collaborative team by strengthening capabilities in business partnering, strategic sourcing, data and insights, change management, and stakeholder engagement, while fostering a culture of accountability, inclusion, and talent development.

 

 


Requirements

 

 

•    Experience leading transformation initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and the implementation of innovative talent acquisition and recruitment practices.


•    Experience leading Talent Acquisition functions and teams in complex, regional, or multi-country environments.


•    Experience designing and implementing talent attraction strategies aligned with business priorities, including critical talent segments and strategic capabilities.


•    Proven track record leading executive and leadership hiring processes and serving as a trusted talent advisor to senior executives and stakeholders.


•    Experience utilizing metrics, analytics, and market intelligence to shape strategy, influence talent decisions, and improve business outcomes.


•    Strong knowledge of Talent Acquisition, Executive Search, Talent Mapping, Workforce Planning, Internal Mobility, and labor market trends.


•    Advanced English proficiency (required) and experience working in regional or global environments (preferred).
