Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Business Performance & Measurement for Retail Banking in Caribbean ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
The Manager, Performance Management & Measurement ensures of the implementation of performance measurements in support of a multitude of key stakeholders and executives across the Bank. The incumbent is responsible for the effective data management of the area towards the timely delivery of Business Performance reports.
Accountabilities
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Develops and automates, in close coordination with IB Retail and IB Analytics, monthly/quarterly management reporting, Executive dashboards, key risk indicators (KRIs) and key performance indicators (KPIs), ensuring alignment to the Operating Model Design requirements and strategic plan, providing relevant reporting/dashboards, insights and action plans to ensure portfolio health.
• Data integrity Oversees data integrity and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual CCA Retail reporting. This includes working with the Retail IB Team responsible for managing operational and administration activities centered around Business Reporting, seeks opportunities to enhance processes and identifies continuous improvement opportunities to streamline processes through enhancements to policies and procedures and supports the data and reporting requirements for key collateral protection program strategic initiatives and solutions in conjunction with key stakeholders.
• Routinely monitors Performance Management & Sales results utilizing available reporting and identifying gaps (e.g. Weekly & Monthly Sales Reports, Counselor/Sales Platform, Scotia Protect, among others)
• Works with Bank’s Retail Partners in the Region to develop and implement data sharing interfaces to manage effectively relevant Retail data, identifying and providing requirements to ensure system, process, reporting and program enhancements are developed to improve program effectiveness in a safe manner.
• Assess E2E processes and controls to identify opportunities and recommend improvements on reports and dashboards related to KPIs, KRIs and Customer Complaints and also lead the goal planning definition for the local countries
• Develops customer and portfolio insights and management information focused on effectively managing in partnership with key stakeholders i.e. Retail Products, Analytics, Digital Factory, Credit Risk and Business Support.
• Implements strategic initiatives and program solutions in conjunction with key stakeholders related to Quality Control of E2E program data.
• Fosters and maintains collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including senior leaders in the countries to support the achievement of deliverables and overall objectives in addition to maintaining regular communications with internal stakeholders.
• Responsible for engaging third party stakeholders to ensure the most effective and efficient partnerships possible. Identifying opportunities to deepen share of managerial data in the most effective and efficient manner.
• Contributes to the effective development and roll-out of strategic projects by actively participating in cross-functional project teams with departments in Toronto and across IB. Responsible for committing to and acting on project plan deliverables in a timely manner, coordinating representation for CCA Retail at regular project team meetings by actively contributing to decisions and communicating deliverables, issues and commitments to the various stakeholders with specific emphasis on data management activities to support and embed identified best practices.
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education / Experience
• Bachelor's degree from a credited higher education institution with major in Data Sciences, Analytics, Computer Sciences, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Business or Finance, with a minimum of 5+ years of related experience with data engineering, statistical and modeling knowledge
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is an asset.
• Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence others at a more senior level without having any direct authority.
• Strong project management skills and effective execution skills to ensure a successful delivery / implementation of initiatives.
• Strong understanding of management reporting principles; ability to sustain a broad-based knowledge of the Bank’s and Global Operation's strategies, and propensity for systems and MIS tools in support of analytic thinking and Business Insights.
• Thorough knowledge of the performance management process and techniques for life and general Retail solutions
• Ability to work independently and balance the needs and demands of the field and the Head Office teams across the region is essential.
The incumbent also requires:
• Comprehensive Knowledge of financial markets across the region
• Thorough understanding of Data Management
• Experience in Data Warehousing / Data Visualization and programs such as Power BI is required.
• Strong technical skills in Excel, SQL and SharePoint are required.
• Good working knowledge of the regional Retail and banking framework
• Good working knowledge of the operational processes of Scotiabank across the region
