Manager, Business Intelligence / AML Operations / Dominican Republic GBS

Horario: Lunes a Viernes 8:30am - 5:30pm / Sabados 4 horas a requerimiento de la unidad

Purpose

Leads and oversees Business Intelligence Team in AML Operations GBS DR, ensuring to enhance reporting package, which includes automated and ad-hoc divisional and local reports to track periodic performance, ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Responsible for the internal control functions of the unit, coordinating and managing the activities for the production and tracking of KPI’s, statistics for follow up, evaluation and impact analysis of the various strategic and operational objectives of the unit.

Accountabilities

• Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge. 

• Provide problem resolution and support senior management in the optimization of processes and systems to serve our clients better and more efficiently.

• Utilizing project methodology to ensure projects and/or policy changes are delivered as agreed including preparation or updating of process flows, updating of procedures ensuring alignment with the Anti-Money Laundering & Anti-Terrorist Financing and relevant Bank Policies.

• Leads the team responsible for preparing AML Operations management reporting such as productivity, progress of strategic projects lead by the BI Team, issues or escalations.

• Provides support in meeting key objectives by ensuring the following actions are timely completed:

• Calculating and tracking KPIs for all areas in the Unit.

• Comparing data from various systems for consistency and work with team members to resolve any discrepancies.

• Preparing and distributing accurate reports in appropriate formats in a timely manner.

• Preparing required reports on key management information to various committees, country reporting and dashboard tools to the Director AML Operations.

• SME on reports, metrics, and data, turning it into information, knowledge, and intelligence that’s actionable and measurable.

• Provide support in Business Intelligence development and application related to reporting and data management.

• Ensure that any potential regulatory or operational risk are managed and escalated appropriately to senior management.

• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions. 

• Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

• Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor´s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration or related field of study. 

• Minimum 3 years relevant experience in the financial services industry with focus on Risk Management, Compliance, Operations or Business Intelligence. 

• Understanding of SQL, SAS, data mapping, and similar programing software.  

• Expert Microsoft Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Power Point and Access) 

• Profound knowledge on reporting, metrics, and analytics development  

• Very good negotiation and analytical skills  

• Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (AML/ATF) & Sanctions  

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).  

• Bilingual (required) English/Spanish – Advanced Level. 

• Organizational and motivational skills and the ability to prioritize/delegate and deal with a variety of complex tasks and situations on an ongoing basis. 

• Coaching Skills – must be able to guide employees to solutions on areas of opportunities. 

• Relational database and data mining tools i.e., ScotiaGlobe, Oracle, SQL

• Business intelligence reporting tools like Power BI 

• Project Management and Lean Six Sigma knowledge is a plus.
