Purpose
Contributes to the overall success of the Learning & Development in Scotia Global Business Services Dominican Republic, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Accountabilities
• Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Deliver training to address skills, product and process knowledge:
• Facilitating learning in a professional manner demonstrating the application of adult learning principles.
• Acquiring and sustaining knowledge levels to support training and delivery of the curriculum.
• Define activities, dynamics, and strategies to foster retention of content depending on the level of the audience.
• Monitor development of trainees during transitional periods and provide floor support before fully initiating operation.
• Manage the activities relative to delivering training programs:
• Coordinating logistics and facilitating Orientation programs for all new employees of his or her unit.
• Performing a variety of administrative functions related to the training programs (such as attendance, feedback surveys, study materials, correcting exams, training records, etc.)
• Analyzing and formulating recommendations associated with performance management of new hires during training period.
• Participates in activities, meetings etc. from the business units in order to remain aware of latest changes in course content that might impact training.
• Support the Bank’s training evaluation strategy to determine impact of training and return on investment:
• Administering training evaluation activities as required
• Reviewing, updating and evaluating course material to ensure quality and effectiveness standards are maintained and training information is up to date.
• Measuring training program success by completing evaluation and analysis activities.
• Keep track of relevant training data (such as Average test score, training completion rate, attendance, participation, man/ hour training, etc)
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education / Experience / Other Information
• Adult Learning Certificate or 2 - 3 years of working experience (preferred)
• Ability to demonstrate highly developed facilitation and presentation skills.
• Working knowledge of adult learning principles.
• Full domain of English and Spanish is required by the operation (Ability to provide training in both languages)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office package.
• Accuracy: Ensuring that work is completed correctly, thoroughly and is of high quality

• Bachelor’s degree of Business Administration, Industrial Psychology or related.
Working Conditions
• Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Limited travel domestically. The incumbent operates within a standard high performing environment. The incumbent will be required to work long and extended hours when the need arises and is expected to work any shift including weekends, public holidays and nights. The incumbent will spend upwards of seven (7) hours per day working on a PC, which can cause eyestrain and makes the employee subject to repetitive stress injuries. And during high seasons will be require facilitating back to back training sessions with up to 25 participants.
