Lead and contribute to the overall success of the GHR IB Risk Management units ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities including Non-Financial Risk, Compliance accountabilities, and business strategies are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

The incumbent is responsible for execution of Caribbean, Mexico, Peru and Chile, Non-Financial Risk and Compliance Framework programs, and methodologies, and tools in accordance with local regulations, and ensuring their sustainability.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will: 

  • Lead and provide subject matter expertise and collaboration to IB, ensuring appropriate Regulatory Compliance processes and controls which support business plan growth, increase productivity, mitigate risk and provide consistent customer experience are in place and executed accordingly
  • Oversee, implement and support activities for Compliance, including but not limited to: Compliance Risk & Control Assessment (CRCA), Privacy, Regulatory Libraries, regulatory change management, monitoring and reporting findings, and other assigned compliance programs
  • Collaborate with IB HR teams, coordinating and providing oversight to Compliance Regulatory Management, Regulatory Library, Audit Findings and Internal Control Review remediation efforts as required; ensuring operational deficiencies are addressed and operational soundness is maintained
  • Provide oversight, ongoing monitoring, support, and independent review to ensure effective and efficient risk assessment and adequate controls are in place within the supported countries
  • Lead Risk Governance for HR, including Privacy and Third-Party Risk Management; ensure adherence to Risk and HR regulations while directing the completion of all required regulatory reporting
  • Monitor and report Compliance and Operational Risk metrics and indicators to ensure adherence to the countries’ risk appetite, including reporting at the Risk Management Governance and Country level
  • Lead non-financial risk activities including Scenario analysis, Key Risk Indicators, Data Loss reporting, Business Environment Assessments, New Initiatives Risk Assessment (NIRA)
  • Provide support and advisory to business units in case of control breakdowns, providing guidance on action plan and escalating to relevant executives
  • Act as a strategic partner to the IB HR Senior Leadership teams, ensuring challenges and issues are addressed effectively
  • Monitor events in the financial services industry, identifying new and emerging issues and regulatory initiatives, providing insight to Senior Leadership
  • Share country updates with GHR Risk Management, noting common themes, trends, and issues
  • Contribute to GHR IB Risk Management activities related to the implementation of programs and frameworks, policies and procedures, and internal controls
  • Ensure GHR IB and local HR policies and content are compliant with HR Knowledge Management policies and procedures requirements
  • Enable a stronger risk culture through ongoing coaching on risk and controls and training on the Operational Risk and Compliance Framework and tools
  • Support Privacy in GHR IB acting as local Privacy Officer and working in partnership with Global HR Risk Management in Canada
  • Ensure awareness and compliance with changing Non-Financial and Compliance frameworks and understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Lead and manage the team by fostering a high-performance and inclusive environment and implementing a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates talent through coaching, communication, and succession planning

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We'd love to work with you if you have: 

  • Bi-lingual English/Spanish
  • University degree or demonstrated experience in a senior HR role (5 years)
  • Strong understanding across all areas in Human Resources, including HR policies, regulatory environment, and reporting requirements
  • Strong understanding of governance and strategy management

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, influencing, and communication across all levels
  • Strong project management, leadership, and team building skills
  • Superior problem-solving ability
