Purpose


Leads and oversees the Investment Support, Centre of Expertise, Transfers POD in the GBS-DR ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

 

Accountabilities 

 

•Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.

•Direct the activities of the Department to ensure the achievement of Operational Performance Commitments (OPC) and customer first service. This is accomplished by effectively ensuring appropriate oversight, monitoring and plans are in place to adhere to OPCs, through responding to issues for internal/external clients relating to the Department functions and providing Senior Management with regular status on service targets.

•Effectively and efficiently manage the accurate execution of requests for BNS & SSI Dealer. Ensure the daily settlement of outstanding trades is completed within the department, report on and correct all rejected transactions and continually maintain an accurate Dealer database.

•Support and/or complete regular and ongoing analytics leveraging reporting and monitoring programs to identify trends and opportunities for operational and/or process improvements. Participate in regular internal and partner meetings when required, highlighting key drivers for success and areas of opportunity with recommendations on improvements to continue to drive best in class service. 

•Ensure effective utilization of the department's Human Resources by preparing and conducting staff Annual Performance Reviews, as well as, ensuring that all personnel activities involving hiring, promotions, performance, transfers and salaries are performed in accordance with bank policy. Provide training, guidance and counsel to staff and conduct regular staff meetings to ensure open lines of communication are maintained.

•Identify opportunities for automation, process/system enhancements and participate in the development, design, testing and implementation by ensuring all legislative changes are appropriately covered. As well, direct or participate in special projects as assigned by the Senior Manager. Ensure processes are not interrupted when new or changed procedures, or interfacing systems are implemented by leading teams through the change and ensuring adequate communication, training, and change management plans are in place and executed.

•Provide assistance to Branches, Call Centres, and other internal/external contacts via telephone or correspondence as they relate to interpretation of policies by providing guidance in the resolution of complex or unusual situations to ensure total satisfaction is attained.

•Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Education / Experience / Other Information

 

•    College diploma/Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and/or a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience
•    English language skills at the Advanced level – full verbal and written fluency
•    Knowledge and understanding of the complex and detailed requirements involving registered product procedures including Deposits, Mutual Fund Securities regulations, and Legislative regulations with respect to all tax-sheltered products, an asset.
•    Strong leadership, organizational, decision making/problem solving skills, analytical/conceptual skills, motivational ability, interpersonal relationship skills, as well as diplomacy and tact, to deal with all levels of internal and external contacts
•    Experience in managing a large team in a fast-paced environment
•    Proven ability to manage conflicting priorities
