The Sr. Business Analyst is responsible for the analysis, control, escalation and resolution of production and process-related day-to-day reporting issues as identified by management. The incumbent is responsible for the creation, review, and analysis of operational reporting to identify key trends, highlight risks and close operational gaps.  The Business Analyst provides support for teams across Collections, Fraud and AML, and is responsible for identifying opportunities to create efficiencies within the departments. He/she will have a high degree of knowledge of products, processes and procedures that support Mastercard Collections. The Business Analyst works collaboratively across all functions to achieve operational consistency and maintain key controls.


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Create, review, and maintain/distribute of necessary reporting required to achieve key performance indicators, service level agreement and operational business controls.
  • Create and maintain reporting necessary to achieve SLAs and identified compliance/regulatory controls.
  • Provide analysis of business data using advanced analytics and modelling tools
  • Work closely with team members, business partners, and management to clearly understand business and/or data requirements to provide intuitive files/reporting in user friendly format.
  • Develop and maintain complex databases and reporting to support Department needs. This will include current reporting and future developments
  • Prepare reports for trending info/analysis, obtaining and reviewing explanations for discrepancies as well as preparing management reports for review which includes analysis and recommendations.  This includes providing analytical support in the implementation or review of new/existing projects, systems, processes, and technology as well as assisting in the delivery and implementation of solutions as required. 
  • May participate in the development and preparation of specific business plans and initiatives. Must be able to summarize information in executive level presentations.
  • Manage and support analysis for a variety of ad-hoc and recurring reports.


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Experience with reporting & statistical software packages such as SAS, SQL, report builder, Power BI, and Python (Experience with Python is a nice to have)
  • Experience with SAS to SQL code migration
  • Results driven individual with high level of curiosity and ability to dive into details without losing sight of the big picture
  • Exceptional organization skills to prioritize, manage, and implement a variety of competing initiatives, on a concurrent or staggered basis
  • Two years’ experience in a collection’s operations environment delivering performance reporting is a nice to have
