Contributes to the overall success of the MD Management (MDM) Limited Regulatory Reporting team in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Is This Role Right for You? In this role, you will:

  • Prepare, analyze and/or review various regulatory filings – including regulatory MFR schedules and statements for CIRO
  • Prepare the quarterly financial statements and board documents for MDM
  • Prepare, analyze and/or review various internal management reporting deliverables
  • Complete monthly analysis to support CFO and the business, on both regulatory and financial matters
  • Ensure appropriate changes to company policies and procedures and financial reports are made
  • Liaise with other areas in fulfilment of duties (variance analysis for Board of Directors reports, financial results, reconciliations etc.)
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors as required
  • Work on various projects to help support the Manager, Financial Reporting and Director, MD Management
  • Provide coverage during absences and cross-training to ensure key deliverables are covered for the team

 

Do You Have the Skills?

  • Post-secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • CSC and/or CPA would be considered an asset
  • 2+ years of related financial reporting experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of Alteryx would be considered an asset
  • Accounting knowledge related to general ledger flows and transactional data
  • Basic understanding of various types of securities/transactions (fixed income, equity, mutual funds)
  • Strong knowledge of CIRO regulatory reporting requirements and accounting procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong analytical/problem solving skills are necessary
  • Ability to be highly organized, to work well under pressure, and to handle multiple tasks within tight time constraints
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and take initiative on various matters
