The Senior Accounting Clerk will contribute to the overall success of the Card Services team and ensure specific individual goals are delivered in support of the team’s strategies and objectives.



  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Completes the fulfillment of Retail and Small Business Credit Card and Line of Credit maintenance on behalf of Branches, the Customer Contact Centres, Operations & Corporate Services, Retail Products and the Business Support Centre.
  • Prepares entries for balance transfers, small balance write-offs and goodwill gestures credits.
  • Promptly processes Scotia Reward point adjustments, transfers, reinstatements and redemptions in accordance with the completed and authorized request.
  • Reviews and assists in the preparation of journal entries, funds transferred and clearing adjustments.
  • Providing prompt, courteous and knowledgeable services to telephone inquiries received from the branch and other Bank partners.
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct
  • Champions a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vision/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.



  • Working knowledge of the Bank’s retail products and services
  • Strong PC and keyboarding skills
  • Working knowledge of the Bank’s small business products
  • Working knowledge of applicable Branch systems (ie. Sales Builder, Intralink, Worklist, Forms Free Teller) and Image and AS400 KS/Host systems
