Performs reporting quality control for GBM U.S. Finance ensuring specific goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.


The Senior Manager, Reporting Projects reports to the Director, Reporting Projects Lead and is responsible for the design and implementation of both tactical and strategic initiatives that improve the quality of reporting.


He/she is responsible to review, analyze, and prioritize resolution of issues and monitor their resolution.


Key Accountability:


  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Design and implement financial, management and regulatory reporting systems.
  • Have an understanding of data at its source and corresponding general ledger relationship.
  • Prepare business requirements and functional specifications to support Finance reporting system change initiatives.
  • Manage all phases of testing, and underlying reconciliation to source data.
  • Review system flows and be able to identify issues and offer solutions.
  • Work closely with Data Management team to identify, and document key data elements that support the underlying reporting.
  • Develop and implement interim solutions to address reporting issues.
  • Facilitate strategic issue resolution planning and implementation, coordinating with internal control team.

Experience & Education:


  • MBA or MS in Accounting, Finance or Computer Science.
  • 10+ years of verifiable progressive experience of problem solving for financial information.
  • Familiar with application development life cycle methodologies.
  • Experience in assessing and escalating sensitive issues, performing root cause analysis, and developing tactical and strategic preventive measures.
  • Experience in developing project plans, business requirements, and functional specifications.
  • Knowledge of U.S. regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Solid understanding of overall banking business and capital markets products.
  • Demonstrated results in unstructured situations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate objectives and document results.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and to gain the confidence of stakeholders.
