Translate comprehensive understanding of capital markets trades and transactions data, the associated semantics, and context into data-driven solutions and services in support of operations, analytics, risk management, finance, and treasury functions data requirements. Directly contribute to the creation and maintenance of Reusable Authoritative Datasets (RADS) for Global Banking and Markets (GBM) trades and transactions data domain, the support and development of the domain’s data services, and the management of data quality and availability of data.

 

Articulate tacit and contextual domain knowledge into an explicit representation of knowledge that is human and machine-readable. Contribute to the development of the building blocks for knowledge representation. Responsible for the content curation.

 

Responsible for supporting data services for GBM Trade and Transactions data domain. Collaborate with technology partners to enhance the capabilities.

 

Provide product subject matter expertise for the data modeling practice and collaborate with Data Modelers to extend and maintain the GBM Common Data Model.

 

Provide advisory and consulting services to consumers of trade and transactions data.  Facilitate data sourcing needs and provide guidance on data mapping and transformation to meet business requirements.

 

The Sr. Manager, Knowledge Engineering reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Head of Trade Data Services and Data Modeling, GBM Data Office.

 

 

 

Is this role right for you? You will be responsible for:

 

 

 

  • Responsible for the support of trade and transactions data services on GBM Data Platform, including Trade Central support.
  • Facilitate GBM trades and transactions data sourcing needs for internal clients such as GBM, Finance, Risk Management, Treasury, and other corporate functions. Document definitions and contextual understanding, and act as a subject matter expert to clients.  Provide advice and guidance on data mapping and transformation to meet business requirements.
  • Support data initiatives as assigned.
  • Understands and supports leading practices related to data management. Has extensive experience with capital markets products and business, with a focus on Treasury, Liquidity, and Money Market products.
  • Contributes to the governance of trade and transactions domain for the assigned products. Assist in the development and maturation of the trade and transactions data domain, and business adoption of data governance activities.
  • Contributes to the management of reference data related to the assigned products.
  • Keep abreast with changes in data pipeline, business process, and technology process related to the assigned products.  Contribute to keeping the definitions and metadata up to date.
  • Contributes to the overall data management practice and capabilities relating to data quality, data provisioning, metadata, lineage, reference data, issue management, and change management.
  • Understands how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Champions a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. Promotes trade data governance and management through the lens of the customer.

 

 


Do you have the skills you need to succeed? We'd love to work with you, if you have:

 

 

 

  • Extensive experience with capital markets and investment banking products and end-to-end processes, with a focus on Treasury, Liquidity, and Money Market products.
  • Understanding of key components of modern data platforms including: data controls, data acquisition and ingestion, data processing, data enrichment, data models, data distribution.
  • Experience with project delivery, business analysis, and user acceptance testing
  • Experience with data and metadata management tools and techniques.
  • Strong communication skills. Ability to tailor communication approach for different audiences in senior leadership, front office, mid/back office, and technology.
  • SQL, HQL, SPARQL, Phyton skills.
  • Knowledge Graph, Ontology, Data Fabric, and Data Mesh experience will be beneficial.
  • Minimum qualifications:
    • Graduate Degree in IT or Business-related discipline preferred
    • 10+ years of experience working with capital markets and/or investment banking products and processes with a focus on Liquidity and Treasury.
    • 5+ years of experience in Financial Services
    • Good knowledge of programming in SQL, SPARQL, HQL, and Phyton is preferred.
    • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Stardog)
    • Knowledge of global financial regulatory environment is preferred
