Purpose

 

Identify and mitigate operational risk across GBM by strengthening Front Office control design and effectiveness, promoting strong risk ownership, and partnering with Control and Support Functions to drive consistent, sustainable control outcomes.

 

What You'll Do

 

Experience across Global Capital Markets & Global Transaction Banking, with business acumen and a strong understanding of financial products, trade lifecycle flows, and end to end operating models. Senior Analyst, U.S. Business Risk Management (1B) FLSS, contributes to the overall success of the front line/first line of defense 1B control group within the United States ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the Global Transaction Banking (GTB) and Cash Management strategies and objectives. 

Proven track record designing, implementing, and strengthening risk and control frameworks, including:

•    Compliance Risk, Risk Identification and Risk & Control Self Assessments, with hands on First Line execution and oversight
•    Collaborate in risk events incidents documentation and escalation process, investigating and remediating as necessary
•    Coordinate analyses of operational risk events (losses, gains and near-misses) to ascertain underlying causes and formulate action plans to address process breakdowns
•    Strengthening Front Office control design and effectiveness, while partnering with Control and Support Functions to drive consistent, sustainable control outcomes
•    Knowledge of Payments Businesses including Payments, Deposits, Cards, and Trade Finance and being able to communicate, develop, and cultivate relationships with sales and product teams 
•    Knowledge in the operational aspects, compliance and business matters for Transactional Banking products and services

Front Office Risk and Control Framework

•    Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of the Front Office risk and control framework including compliance issues and internal/external obligations
•    Provide hands on oversight of control execution, including written supervisory procedures, ensuring alignment with operational risk policy and regulatory expectations.
•    Partner across the three lines of defense to drive consistent risk identification, assessment, and issue remediation.
•    Support regulatory and audit engagements through coordinated, accurate, and timely responses
•    Help to develop and provide training to business line (1A) personnel on non-financial risks, controls, and supervisory procedures
•    Participate in RCSA, CRCA, and Risk ID execution and liaise with 1A to identify processes, risks, controls, and corresponding ratings
•    Participates in risk impact assessments of changes resulting from business expansion into new geographies, new products and services, organic business growth, system changes/new implementation, regulatory requirements

Collaboration and Influence

•    Partner effectively across the three lines of defense to ensure alignment and consistency in risk practice
•    Partner across Control and Support Functions, with a strong focus on Technology, to identify and manage IT and data risks, including third party dependencies and business continuity resilience.
•    Collaborate with other stakeholders to provide, document, and improve efficiencies and key metrics (KRIs/KPIs) on supervisory and operational risk topics for senior management when required
•    Provides support to leadership on regulatory and audit findings and work with business line management (1A) to track responses
•    Provide support on delegated supervisory tasks from the businesses (1A)
•    Influence key stakeholders by applying industry best practices and building compelling, business focused cases for risk and control enhancements.
•    Collaborate with other stakeholders to provide, document, and improve efficiencies and key metrics (KRIs/KPIs) on supervisory and operational risk topics for senior management when required.
•    Participate in the collation of information required by regulators and internal audit to facilitate the latter's examinations/reviews 
•    Other duties and projects may be assigned.

 

What You'll Bring

 

•    3+ years of experience in Capital Markets Trading Floor, Front Office, Finance or related fields;
•    Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance or Business Management related fields
•    Strong knowledge and experience of capital markets and/or Transaction Banking processes to effectively interpret input from Business leaders and Subject Matter Experts (“SMEs”) 
•    Past experience of working with regulations and familiarity with latest laws
•    Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to guide decision making process and facilitate consensus
•    Ability to network, collaborate, and interview stakeholders to attain necessary information for drafting Business Risk Management documentation and Written Supervisory Procedures (“WSPs”)
