Title:  Operations Manager, GWO Settlements & Clearing

Is this role right for you? You will be responsible for:

 

 

  • Monitoring Daily Reorg and Dividend payments and spot checking for timeliness and accuracy.
  • Checking all Voluntary Reorg Summaries on expiration/processing date.
  • Comparing voluntary expiration spreadsheet vs the Reorg system expiration dates and report any discrepancies.
  • Monitoring General Ledger and identify out of balances and aged issues.  Contact Toronto C/A team for resolution.
  • Ensuring that the Toronto Corporate Actions/Entitlement team fully adheres to NY’s SLA.
  • Researching, reviewing and updating Broadridge Reorg and Dividend Broadridge B1s for new business requirements and possible improvements of current system processes.
  • Maintaining strong relationships with the desks, operations teams, and all support groups.
  • Investigating each close of business seg deficit and determine type, root cause and owner.
  • Supervisor/Four eyed approval of all manual seg movement requests at depositories.
  • Seg preventive functions on S/D to determine if shorts have been covered.  Working with M/O and desk to resolve which will prevent seg deficits.  This would include reviewing the trades that are due to settle on the current day and monitoring the real time positions at the depots to determine what can be done to avoid a seg deficit the following day.

Must Have Skills/Requirements   

  • Reorg Voluntary/Liability Knowledge.  5+ years of hands on experience
  • Strong understanding of Operations settlement and custody processing.
  • Strong Excel Skills (Must be comfortable with pivot tables and V Lookups). 5+ years of hands on experience

 

Nice to Have Skills

  • Broadridge BPS experienced user.
  • Familiar with DTC (CA Web, POS, ATAM)
  • International Depository Corporate Action Knowledge
  • Familiar with Swift Corporate Action messaging.

 

Soft Skills

 

  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Operational reconciliation skills.
  • Strong communication skills.  Written and Verbal (Will be communicating with Business aand Senior Management).
  • Someone who can think outside the box.
  • Ability to handle complex situations.

 

Education

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent.
