In this role as Governance & Reporting, U.S. Regulatory Operations and Controls Manager, you will contribute to the overall success of the US Regulatory Operations and Controls (US ROC), ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. You will ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.This role can be based in New York, NY or Houston, TX.


Is this role right for you?

  • Continually acquire and enhance knowledge of both the Bank’s and the Division’s business strategies and policies, risk management practices and methodologies, product offerings, financial markets, financial instruments, regulatory requirements, and Bank Office processes
  • Understanding of how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Collaborate with business line management to develop processes and procedures to implement and maintain the AML controls, including customer due diligence, customer refresh, name screening, activity reviews
  • Support activites to embed key process controls such as Business Acceptance Forum (BAF), AML Quality Assurance
  • Assist in the facilitation and performance of the periodic AML and Sanctions Risk Assessment
  • Coordinates, updates and tracks to completion the recorded issues identified across all Business Lines in accordance to the issues management framework; including
    • Develop and oversee AML remediation plans
    • Validate correction of identified control weaknesses before closure
    • Work with management to respond to issues raised by AML Audits and examinations
  • Identify real/potential gaps and fix/escalate accordingly
  • Assist in the design and development of metrics, reports and analyses to support key business decision making
  • Assist to prepare and deliver regular reports, communications, and presentations, as necessary, to keep all levels of management informed
  • Suggest enhancements KRI and KPI reporting
  • Timely escalations of day-to-day matters and complex issues to appropriate departments or management for resolution
  • Maintain appropriate level of knowledge in regard to regulatory compliance requirements
  • Contribute to a high performance environment that reinforces both individual accountability and strong inter-group cooperation
  • Deliver to management expectations, including accountabilities, objectives, and both team and individual goals are effectively communicated and monitored for all direct reports
  • Support fellow team members to develop creative and strategic solutions, including streamlining processes and planning initiatives, where appropriate
  • Foster partnerships across the first and second lines; and other key stakeholders in connection with the onboarding function
  • Work collaboratively across functional teams to resolve open issues in a timely and effective manner


Is this role right for you? We'd love to work with you, if you have:

  • At minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline. Master's degree, recognized professional designation in a specialized area of finance or business, or equivalent, is a plus
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial services and AML/KYC
  • ACAMS certified (preferred)
  • Knowledge of client population maintenance and reporting
  • Knowledge of control and quality assurance,
  • Knowledge of businesses, products, operations, Microsoft suite, strong communication (written & oral), analytical, organization, project management/planning skills
  • The ability to be a team player
  • High organizational skills with an ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment and manage multiple priorities
  • The ability to prioritize tasks; creative problem solving and the ability to motivate others and implement new solutions
