Position: Director, Global Loan Syndications



Contributes to the overall success of Global Loan Syndications in the United States ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.



 Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
 Participates in Client Coverage Teams and executes Top Tier and Multi-Product client transactions as part of Deal Teams.
 Structuring, pricing and execution of Lead Arranger/Bookrunner roles for syndicated credits.
 Formulation of syndication strategies to maximize fee retention and minimize overhold risk.
 Develops industry and product expertise in coverage areas.
 Demonstrates skills in developing, maintaining and strengthening business relations with existing and new customers.
 Mentoring and development of junior team members.
 Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
 Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
 Champions a high performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment.



 10+ years of Syndicated Loan Capital Markets experience.
 Understanding of clients’ and potential clients’ underlying businesses and industries.
 Specific knowledge of pro rata, institutional and bridge loan products, capital structuring, risk management, origination and execution of the loan product.
 Specific knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance in the US.
