TITLE: Director, U.S. Emerging Market Rates Trading
 

DUTIES: Scotia Capital (USA), Inc. seeks Director, U.S. Emerging Market Rates Trading in New York, NY to contribute to the success of the Emerging Markets Desk in New York with a particular focus on Andean (Chile, Colombia, Peru), Brazil and Mexico products, working closely with the LATAM region to ensure specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives. Responsible for the performance of market making activities for Andean, Brazil and Mexico products and contributing to the overall performance of the Emerging Markets rates trading in New York and foreign subsidiaries. Oversee trading activities in all offshore books for Emerging Market Ecosystem. Work with the sales team and other stakeholders to ensure that the business develops the client franchise. Work to meet annual objectives including financial targets and business development. Ensure compliance of trading limits, as well as internal and external rules and regulations. Ensure that risk taking is prudent and within the Bank management's risk appetite. Work with management to ensure oversight of key resources such as capital, balance sheet and funding. Develop strong working relationships with other internal stakeholders. Develop and implement a business plan for Andean, Brazil and Mexico products trading in New York, in cooperation with other key stakeholders including the sales and marketing teams. Work with sales teams globally to ensure that the sales and trading teams develop and meet client demands for Andean, Brazil, and Mexico products.
 

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business, Economics or a related field and ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or related occupation: working with financial products and technical details for  LATAM products, including cross currency swaps in  MXN, CLP, COP, PEN, BRL, USD & EUR currencies, structured options, Vanilla swaps, NDF/FX arbitrage, bonds, and inflation linked products; working with International Banking core products; applying knowledge of market risks and risk management principles; engaging in the design of the  annual business review documentation from a front office perspective and daily control of Emerging market book limits; utilizing financial engineering techniques, product structuring, bootstrapping and co-bootstrapping, interpolation methodologies, option pricing models, and Greeks management; using technical language and software, including SQL and Microsoft Excel as well as Bloomberg analytics; working with risk management software such as Murex; conducting professional editing and using design skills for corporate and institutional client’s presentations. The salary offered is between $300,000 to $300,000 per year, and 40 hours per week. 10% international travel required. Spanish fluency required.
