Purpose
Contribute to the growth of the US Structured Solutions Group by originating, structuring, and distributing innovative fixed income derivative and structured credit products to sophisticated institutional clients. The incumbent will drive revenue growth and expand market share by developing and executing client-centric solutions in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
The Structured Solutions Group (SSG) is an innovation hub focused on providing customized financial market solutions to core clients externally, as well as supporting the needs of internal partners throughout the Bank. The group develops solutions for clients who present with complex problems and/or constraints, often influenced by financial regulations (insurance companies, asset managers, and banks).
The US platform is in an exciting phase of growth, and the incumbent will play a central role in helping scale the New York team as a solutions-driven hub for sales, origination, and syndication.
What You'll Do
• Origination & Client Coverage: Develop and execute origination strategies to achieve growth targets across SSG’s US client base, identifying and onboarding new clients (primarily focused on Insurance Companies and Pension Plans).
• Structuring & Product Innovation: Originate, structure, and distribute a range of products including structured funding products (FA-Backed, Structured Repo, etc), securitizations, insurance-backed structures, and credit derivatives (TRS/CDS/Guarantees) — bringing new products online in support of business development.
• Distribution & Syndication: Strengthen SSG’s ability to recycle illiquid risk by building distribution capabilities, improving syndication speed and credibility, and cultivating relationships with risk-takers and investors globally.
• Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, including key decision-makers, to deepen engagement and drive business opportunities. Foster new and existing client relationships in addition to cross-selling across other areas and product groups within our markets and investment banking business.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders across the Bank — including the broader Structured Credit team, Corporate & Investment Banking, Risk Management, and support functions — to ensure seamless delivery of products and services and to identify cross-sell opportunities that support broader franchise revenue growth.
• Risk Management: Understand the risk profile of transactions and adhere to the processes to manage those risks.
• Market Intelligence: Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify and capitalize on opportunities for market share expansion. Participate in industry events and conferences to promote the Bank’s structured credit capabilities.
What You’ll Bring
• Proven track record in structured credit, fixed income derivatives, or structured finance origination and/or distribution — 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Deep expertise in bank and insurance capital regulations, private credit, structured financing, and/or financial accounting.
• Strong understanding of securitization processes (CLO/CFO/RNF/SRT etc.), Credit Derivatives (TRS/CDS/NPI/Guarantees), and assorted financing instruments.
• Established relationships with institutional investors, insurance companies, and/or asset managers — particularly US-based FIG clients.
• Bachelor’s degree required (Business/Finance/STEM); CFA or advanced degree is an asset.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with strong business development and relationship management capabilities.
• Problem-solving abilities and pragmatic mindset; ability to iterate in real time and solution in the room with clients.
• Team-oriented approach with an ownership mindset — accountable for client experience, revenue, cost, and risk.
