Director, Global Sales Execution, Global Transaction Banking - New York, NY

 

Purpose

The Director, Global Sales Execution is accountable for establishing the strategic direction of the GTB sales organization by delivering actionable insights, conducting in-depth analysis, and supporting the design of strategies to optimize performance in close collaboration with key stakeholders and functional areas of the Bank to align sales initiatives with company and GTB wide objectives. These key areas include: GTB Sales Effectiveness, GTB Business Intelligence & Analytics, Enterprise Strategy and Operations, Enterprise Analytics and Innovation, Client Insights and Analytics (CIDA), Global Banking & Markets, Finance, GTB Product and GTB Operations.

 

The incumbent will be required to provide a consistent deployment of performance analysis and reviews in close coordination with GTB Business Intelligence & Analytics, CIDA, Finance and Client Insights and Analytics (GBM) among other.


Accountabilities 

  • Primary Global Sales interface with key areas of GTB and the Enterprise as described above, representing the Global Sales Team, to ensure a consistent application of Sales processes, performance governance and standards in all our footprint.
  • Ensuring our Global Sales team has access to the appropriate Data Analysis and Reporting tools, leveraging our Client Relationship Management systems (Salesforce/C360) and in close coordination with all key internal stakeholders as described above.
  • Ensuring a consistent deployment of our Global Sales model across Client Segments, including foundational processes such as Portfolio Creation, Client Assignments, Scorecards to mention a few examples.
  • Global Coordination of key aspects of our Sales Model, across the bank’s footprint, in a way that we ensure global strategies adapt to individual country requirements while ensuring the necessary consistency. For example: having the right GTB Collateral at country level in a consistent and current fashion.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration, acting as a liaison between sales teams and key departments to ensure alignment and efficiency. The objective is to ensure our sales team operates efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensuring our Global Sales teams are delivering against agreed upon KPI and performance metrics by way of providing with access and visibility to globally consistent dashboards and artifacts, again in close coordination with all key internal areas involved in this process.
  • Develop and deliver onboarding programs for new sales hires, ensuring they smoothly adapt, adopt and learn our key processes and tools, in close coordination with HR, Sales Effectiveness among other key areas.
  • Support the design and deployment of a global training curriculum for Sales in close coordination with our HR and Sales Effectiveness partners.
  • Collaborate with Sales Effectiveness, Marketing and Product organizations to ensure the global sale steam has access to updated, current, relevant client collateral, Case Studies, and presentations.
  • Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.
  • Operates in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk. 
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

 

Education & Experience

  • 7+ years of transaction banking experience incl. global cash management, liquidity management, trade & working capital solutions, and / or corporate banking or global banking experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree, MBA or equivalent 
  • Well-developed analytical skills. Ability to manage and interpret data sets.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g. Salesforce) and sales enablement tools.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a track record in building relationships.
  • Knowledge and understanding of transaction banking products, credit and risk processes and pricing philosophy. 
  • Strong project management skills
  • Problem Solving 
  • Spanish / French Language competency is an advantage 
  • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) designation is an asset
  • Strong creative solution and motivation for process improvement
