Purpose
The role focuses on the origination, development and delivery of FICC (Fixed Income,Commodity and Currency) QIS (Quantitative Investment Strategy) platform, products and solutions for the global client base.
What You'll Do
- Drive FICC Index/QIS (Quantitative Investment Strategies) product innovation and development, collaborating with all relevant partners to deliver a unique and robustoffering for our clients, globally.
- Conceptualize, research, design and develop relevant systematic index strategies based on various investment themes specific to each asset class.
- Work closely with FICC Index Sales & Trading and various teams in legal, technology, quant and compliance to industrialize index rules, decomposition and ongoing maintenance of strategies.
- Collaborate with FICC strategist teams for idea generation and to leverage market expertise into product development.
- Transform ideas into actionable, investable strategies.
- Develop a FICC Index Structuring/Product “hub” consisting of relevant products, development tools, data, index documents, descriptions, agreements, marketing materials, know-how and knowledge and research materials.
- Create innovative tools and processes for quickly reacting and managing client inquiries, idea-based interactions and solutions- based results.
- Create backtesting, portfolio and analytics tools for idea creation and stress testing.
- Explain complex market, derivative, index concepts, components and methods to sophisticated clients.
- Connect strategy characteristics to underlying market movements
- Product technical writing, formulaic descriptions and closed-form index rules describing full replication of strategy.
- Help manage third-party index partnerships, relationships and agreements
- Support/collaborate with FICC sales on the creation of technical sales material, pitchbooks, index descriptions and custom reports for client service.
- Represent Scotiabank with financial institutions in a variety of capacities, including the road show marketing, investor meetings and industry conferences
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in dayto-day activities and decisions
- Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk

What You'll Bring:
- Advanced degree (Master’s or equivalent) with a strong academic and professional track record
- CFA or equivalent designation preferred
- 5–10+ years of relevant experience within FICC (Fixed Income, Commodity and Currency)
- Experience in Index/QIS structuring and/or quantitative or systematic strategy development within a banking environment
- Volatility experience is a plus
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills with deep market knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including clear and concise technical and formulaic documentation
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with sound judgment, effective problem-solving, and strong time management
- Ability to respond to inquiries confidently, efficiently, and with precision
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining focus and accuracy
- Strategic, independent, and creative thinker with a track record of generating ideas and making decisions
- High level of energy, initiative, and entrepreneurial drive
- Consistently demonstrates high professional standards and personal integrity
