Position:  Director, Corporate Derivative Trader


The Corporate Derivatives Trading desk within the Equity Derivatives Division is responsible for pricing, trading, and risk-managing both vanilla and complex derivative products for corporate clients of the firm. Products range from vanilla options to more complex exotic payoffs. Trades typically consist of single stock underliers, but given the complexity of some of the risks, members of the desk must be able to understand a wide variety of instruments and financial markets (interest rates, FX, etc.).  The ideal candidate will have experience within corporate trading (market knowledges, market making, hedging, IDB, etc.) with an ability to understand more complex payoff and will contributes to the overall success of the Corporate Equity Derivatives business.

•    Pricing and structuring of derivatives transactions for corporate clients.
•    Daily risk management and hedging of the trading books, including close interaction with other traders and brokers.
•    Collaborating with members of the Global Capital Markets team on idea generation and structuring of client.
•    Communicating with clients on matters related to equity derivatives when requested by Sales.
•    Conducting research on stocks / companies in order to evaluate risks and make trading decisions.
•    Driving forward new technology and infrastructure projects with IT and financial engineers.
•    Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures
•    Ensures all risks are contained within the approved limits outlined in the Desk’s LCS.  
•    Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment. 

Education / Experience 
•    Minimum 5 years work experience trading corporate derivatives.
•    Extensive knowledge of global capital markets.
•    Extensive knowledge of the U.S. Corporate Derivative market including the ability to price and risk manage call spreads, ASRs, variable prepaid forwards and other exotic structures.
•    Ability to thrive in a challenging and collaborative working environment.
•    Fully licensed and registered for trading stocks, options and futures in the US; minimum Series 3, 7, 63 and 55/57 qualified.  Similar designations for Canada are required but not mandatory prior to commencing.
•    Advanced computer skills required, especially in MS Excel and Visual Basic.
•    Strong team player, making ongoing risk management decisions within the context of group collaboration.
•    Strong communication, business development and relationship management skills.
