TITLE: Director, Corporate Banking, U.S. Power & Utilities
 

DUTIES: The Bank of Nova Scotia seeks Director, Corporate Banking, U.S. Power & Utilities in New York, NY to contribute to success of Corporate and Investment Banking team in the US, ensuring specific team and individual goals, plans and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Manage account relationships, including assessing corporate loan transactions and evaluating cross sell potential to achieve pre-set targets in terms of revenues, profitability, and cross sell volumes as primary officer for certain customers and prospects and as a secondary officer, working closely with the Managing Directors, for others. Manage all aspects of marketing clients, including coordinating activities with other groups as well as preparing pre-meeting analysis and marketing materials and preparing post-meeting analysis and client follow up. Perform client and prospect research, including industry analysis and company due diligence. Assist Team Leader in preparation of portfolio analysis, prospect identification and product opportunities. Structure, analyze and perform due diligence on transactions. Develop recommendations for the appropriate course of action and prepare credit submissions for adjudication by Global Risk Management.
 

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or a related field and nine (9) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or related occupation: performing financial analysis including assessing historical and projected cash flows and capital structure; performing credit underwriting and structuring including complex loan solutions; supporting loan transaction negotiation and syndication; and supporting structure and review of legal documentation. The salary offered is between $250,000 and $250,000 per year, 40 hours per week. 35% travel required. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies. When not telecommuting, must report to work site.
